President Biden took the stage yesterday afternoon in his home state of Pennsylvania — also home to a key swing U.S. Senate seat battle this year — and addressed a crowd gathered in Wilkes-Barre to tout his “Safer America Plan.”
A notable part of the plan, which the White House highlighted in a subsequent tweet, is a measure to ban “assault weapons and high-capacity magazines. In addition, it will ban the manufacture, sale, or possession of unserialized firearms, often referred to as ‘ghost guns.'”
Following his remarks, Biden reminded everyone of the “Bipartisan Safer Communities Act ” that he signed into law in the wake of the Uvalde tragedy.
The National Rifle Association (NRA) which the President called out in the tweet above responded today to Biden's new plan.
NRA spokesman Lars Daleside told American Liberty News that “This is Joe Biden's crime crisis. It's raging through our country because of reluctance by the President and his allies to take violent criminals off the streets. Biden's Justice Department has allowed criminals to roam free throughout Baltimore, Philadelphia, Chicago, New York, San Francisco, and other cities large and small without fear of prosecution or punishment. Americans know the no cash bail and the revolving door justice system supported by soft-on-crime leaders are the real problem. Instead of focusing on criminals who commit crimes, the president continues to propose draconian measures that only affect law-abiding Americans.”
The NRA also highlighted the “dangerous rhetoric” that President Biden used last night, when he said that anyone who wants to fight against the country would “need an F-15”.
“You need something a little more than a gun” Biden can be heard saying in the clip of last night's speech posted above.
American Liberty News Contributor Peter Roff said last week that Democrats don't want to be seen as soft on crime, and Biden's rhetoric last night reaffirmed those remarks.
