US CENTCOM commanding general flies into Israel as its war with Hamas deepens. The general overseeing American forces in the Middle East made an unannounced trip to Israel on Tuesday, saying he hoped to ensure the Israeli military has what it needs to fight Hamas.

DON’T LET HIM TRIP – Biden will head to Israel and Jordan as concerns mount that Israel-Hamas conflict will spread. Joe Biden will meet with both Israeli and Arab leadership amid growing concerns that the war could expand into a larger regional conflict. The idea of unilaterally intervening in Mexico to bolster U.S. security has been gaining traction within the Republican Party. A majority of GOP voters now supports the idea. Israel suspends military exports to Colombia over its leftist president’s criticism of Gaza siege. The escalating dispute comes over online messages by the far-left president comparing Israel’s siege of Gaza to the actions of Nazi Germany.

French defense firms to triple 155mm ammo production, boost weapons output. They have increased production of self-propelled guns, artillery shells, fighter jets and anti-air missiles.

SHAME – Polish election upends right-wing ruling party. The result provides a path back to power for Donald Tusk, who has promised to maintain aid to Kyiv, after the ruling party took a more hostile approach to backing Ukraine indefinitely.

US MILITARY

MORE ‘MARINE-LIKE’? – Army takes on a naval tinge as it adapts to the Pacific. Undersecretary cites several aspects of the service’s efforts to develop “linchpin” capabilities for the joint force.

OOORAH! – US Army, Navy and Air Force struggle for recruits. The Marines have plenty. As the other branches fall short despite signing bonuses and other incentives, the Marine Corps easily fills its ranks on swagger alone.
