Congress Subpoenas 3 Telecom Giants Over J6 Spying On Congress

Three major telecom companies have been asked to turn over documents to Congress as part of an investigation into a FBI scheme to spy on members of Congress in an effort to criminally convict President Donald Trump for questioning the results of the 2020 presidential election.

The U.S. Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations U.S. Sen. Ron Johnson (R-W) “subpoenaed AT&T, Verizon, and Lumen for records identifying the targets of Jack Smith’s partisan investigation into President Trump, also known as ‘Arctic Frost.’”

“Senate Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) joined Chairman Johnson on the cover letter to these companies,” the Committee adds.

“These subpoenas will ensure that the companies will provide full and complete responses to the chairmen’s ongoing requests for information relating to Jack Smith’s efforts to acquire phone records from law abiding U.S. citizens, including Members of Congress,” the Committee reports.

“Over the last year, Chairman Grassley and I identified hundreds of individuals and entities that Jack Smith swept into his massive partisan dragnet, including Charlie Kirk’s Turning Point USA and elected officials. In response to these subpoenas, I expect the telecom companies to identify even more people Jack Smith ruthlessly targeted as he weaponized the federal justice system against law-abiding patriots,” Johnson stated.

“The subpoenas follow the chairmen’s extensive oversight of the Biden administration’s efforts to cripple President Trump and his allies. Last year, Chairmen Johnson and Grassley revealed that the Biden Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) subpoenaed phone records belonging to at least 13 Members of Congress. Through whistleblower disclosures, the chairmen released records showing that over 400 Republican organizations and individuals were targeted as part of ‘Arctic Frost,’” the Committee concludes.
