Congressional investigators now reveal that Hunter Biden, the middle-aged son of President Joe Biden, used taxpayer-funded flights to meet with personal business partners and treat them to official dinners.
The taxpayer-funded flights took place while Biden served as vice president to President Barack Obama. Hunter Biden, who had no role in government, had no reason to be part of an official White House delegation but joined several official White House trips overseas to meet with potential foreign partners for his personal business. Critics note Hunter Biden had no particular business experience or expertise, and his personal business appears to be selling his personal access to Joe Biden.
“Whistleblower documents released by the Ways and Means Committee show an indisputable connection between then-Vice President Joe Biden and his son's business dealings,” the Committee reports in an announcement of further findings as Congress conducts an initial impeachment hearing into Joe Biden.
“In February of 2014, Joe Biden hosted Hunter Biden and two business associates, Mexican billionaire Miguel Aleman and his father, at the White House. Hunter Biden subsequently contacted a White House photographer to obtain a photograph from the visit,” the Committee reports. “Three months later, Hunter Biden emailed Devon Archer, saying, ‘We need to get to Mexico City and cement deal w/ Miguel.' Astonishingly, the documents show Joe Biden later used taxpayer dollars to fly Hunter Biden and a business associate to Mexico City on Air Force Two,” the Committee adds.
“The American people deserve to know whether a connection existed between Joe Biden's meeting with billionaire Miguel Aleman and official government activity, as well as whether any of his actions as Vice President helped advance his son's business interests in Mexico City,” Ways and Means Committee Chairman Jason Smith stated.
“The timing of these meetings combined with flights of the Vice President's plane raise serious questions of possible government corruption, and it is hard to believe the timing of these events are just a coincidence,” Smith added.
The findings are expected to be part of any upcoming full House hearing and vote on the formal impeachment of Biden and potential Senate vote to remove him from office.
