Outrage As Oakland Residents Defend Hamas, Blame Israel For Oct. 7

ANALYSIS – Welcome to the “pro-Hamas, pro-murder wing” of the Democrat Party.

In the latest example of the growing nexus between far-left radicals and Islamist terrorist supporters, the Oakland City Council in California refused to condemn the brutal Hamas terror attack against Israel. The council did produce a resolution supporting a permanent cease-fire in Gaza and the unrestricted entry of humanitarian assistance into the enclave. It also demanded the release of all hostages still held by Hamas.

What the pro-terror resolution didn’t do was call out Hamas’ despicable terrorism.

As Mediate reported:

…the council voted beforehand to reject an amendment proposed by Council member Dan Kalb. The amendment, which failed with a 6-2 vote, would have expressly condemned international terrorism and Hamas’ instigation of the war with the atrocities they committed on October 7th.

The council meeting that led to the lopsided pro-Hamas resolution also descended into chaos as members emotionally debated the issue.

Some speakers falsely suggested either the Oct. 7 massacre didn’t happen or that the Israeli military was behind the mass killing of Jews.

Newsweek quoted some of the Jew-hating Oakland terror supporters:

One woman said: “Calling Hamas a terrorist organization is ridiculous, racist and plays into genocidal propaganda that is flooding our media and that we should be doing everything possible to combat.”

Another added: “I support the right of Palestinians to resist occupation, including through Hamas, the armed wing of the unified Palestinian resistance.”

A third woman stated: “Hamas is not a terrorist organization just because the U.S. and Israel deems it so. Hamas is a resistance organization that is fighting for the liberation of Palestinian people in their land.”

Even some left wing Democrats were shocked by this spectacle.

MSNBC contributor Charlie Sykes said: “Moral Depravity on parade…. This is the pro-Hamas, pro-murder wing of [t]he Left.”

And James Palmer, deputy editor of Foreign Policy magazine, wrote: “We have to face that something has gone very, very wrong with part of American leftism.”

Indeed, something has gone very, very wrong with Democrats in general.
