This endorsement is the next in my series of recommendations to Howard Lutnick, Donald J. Trump Jr., and the Trump transition team. Previously, I put forward Ken Paxton for attorney general—now, I turn my attention to Scott Jennings as the ideal choice for White House press secretary.
If there’s one person whose experience, articulation and media savvy could transform the daily White House press briefings into impactful conversations that effectively champion Donald Trump’s agenda, it would be Scott Jennings. Jennings has consistently demonstrated on CNN that he can articulate Trump’s vision for America as effectively as Vice President-elect J.D. Vance or Vivek Ramaswamy—if not more so. For that reason, among many others, Jennings stands out as an exceptional choice for the role of White House Press Secretary.
A Background That Combines Public and Private Sector Success
Scott Jennings grew up in Dawson Springs, Kentucky, and studied at the University of Louisville, where he graduated as a McConnell Scholar in 2000. His education provided him with a deep understanding of political science, which later proved crucial in his career in government and media. Jennings began his career as a journalist, which gave him an early insight into the importance of delivering clear, precise messages—a skill he has since honed throughout his career.
He went on to work for high-ranking Republican officials both in the Senate and the White House including as special assistant to the president. Importantly, Jennings learned how to navigate some of the most contentious issues of our time while working closely with leaders who shaped conservative politics. Later, he co-founded RunSwitch PR, which has grown to become Kentucky’s largest public relations and public affairs firm. The success of RunSwitch PR showcases Jennings’ ability to build and lead effective teams—a vital quality for any press secretary.
Trump places a premium on business acumen, often seeing it as a key asset in effective governance. Scott Jennings embodies this blend of business savvy and sophisticated political understanding. His private sector success, exemplified through his leadership of Kentucky’s largest PR firm, RunSwitch, is a testament to his strategic mind and effectiveness as a leader. Such experience aligns perfectly with Trump’s own approach to negotiation and management—pragmatic, results-oriented and with an eye for impactful communication. Jennings’ dual expertise in the business world and political strategy makes him someone Trump can trust to work seamlessly within the administration, effectively advancing the President’s vision.
A Voice of Reason and Reality on CNN
Jennings has been a senior political commentator on CNN since 2017, where he’s regularly sparred with opposing viewpoints while always standing his ground. Jennings brings reality crashing down on CNN’s often left-leaning narratives. He doesn’t shy away from challenging his colleagues on issues where he believes the media has lost touch with regular Americans.
Consider his powerful commentary on Trump’s 2024 election victory. Jennings described the win as “revenge of the regular, anonymous American” who had been dismissed by elites. Jennings captured something fundamental that others on the panel couldn’t: that people across the country were tired of being insulted, ignored and made to feel like second-class citizens for their beliefs. Jennings spoke up not just for Trump, but for everyday Americans—people “who get up and go to work every day, and try to make a better life for their kids.”
Such clarity and insight are exactly what the White House press corps needs to hear day after day. Jennings would be more than just a spokesperson; he would be the advocate for the forgotten, the silenced and the Americans whom the mainstream media often misrepresents or neglects.
Humor, Courage, and Consistency
Another remarkable quality of Jennings is his ability to employ humor to make important points—whether about politics, the economy or something seemingly trivial, like defending Peanut the Rescue Squirrel. Trump has consistently employed humor as a strategic instrument in negotiation, leadership and communication—whether on the campaign trail or in high-stakes discussions. Scott Jennings mirrors this approach with his sharp wit and capacity to use humor strategically, making him particularly well-suited to the role of White House press secretary. Jennings’ preelection eulogy on CNN, where he defended P’Nut the Rescue Squirrel against “absurd government overreach,” was not only humorous but also highlighted the absurdities of unchecked bureaucracy. This mix of levity and pointed critique is precisely the kind of communication Trump values—humor used not just for laughs, but as a tool for cutting through the noise and delivering a memorable, persuasive message.
Beyond humor, Jennings is not afraid to speak truth to power—even if that power happens to be the media establishment he works for. He pointed out that the mainstream narrative on the election had been an “indictment of the political information complex.” He went on to say that many in the media were so focused on niche issues and narratives that they ignored fundamental concerns like inflation, crime and economic uncertainty—the issues that matter most to everyday Americans. This willingness to challenge the system—to push back even against his colleagues—is a quality that would serve him well in the White House briefing room.
A Proven Fighter for Trump and His Agenda
In a Los Angeles Times opinion piece, Jennings outlined his support for Donald Trump and why he is voting for him once again. Jennings does not blindly follow; instead, he assesses what’s best for the country. He writes that while Trump may have flaws, his achievements and agenda are what the country needs now: tax cuts, conservative judges, border security and an end to the culture of “world salad” incoherence that has defined his opponents. Jennings recognizes Trump’s resilience, noting that “Trump is more popular than ever—both personally and as a president.” His clarity of thought and consistent message are what the next Trump administration needs in its Press Secretary—someone who understands not just the policies but also the pulse of the people.
Why Scott Jennings Is the Perfect Choice
Scott Jennings is ready to take the White House podium. He possesses the depth of knowledge, the sharpness of wit, the strength of conviction and the extensive experience necessary to effectively communicate Donald Trump’s vision for America. Jennings is battle-tested through his years in Republican politics, seasoned by his success in the private sector and well-practiced in defending conservative values on a network that often shuns such perspectives. His presence would bring confidence, charisma and conviction to the briefing room—qualities that ensure every interaction with the press would be a win for the Trump administration.
Scott Jennings as White House press secretary would mean something simple: no spin, no condescension, and no nonsense—just a clear message that America can get behind.

‘The View’ Turns On Graham Platner Amid Sexting Scandal & Growing Controversies
Democratic Senate candidate Graham Platner is under fire from an unlikely source: the hosts of ABC’s The View.
The daytime talk show’s panel ripped into the Maine Democrat this week following reports that he engaged in extensive sexting with multiple women while married, adding to a growing list of controversies that have complicated his campaign against longtime Republican Sen. Susan Collins.
The criticism marks another setback for a candidate once viewed as one of Democrats’ strongest opportunities to flip a Republican-held Senate seat in 2026.
