The Erosion Of Justice: A Troubling Phenomenon

Under the Biden administration in the past three plus years the debate surrounding the border has escalated beyond building a wall, putting up razor wire or activating the National Guard. It is no longer a crisis – it's a calamity. The continuation of having a porous border contributes to a growing fentanyl epidemic fueled by drug cartels, among other criminal activity. It not only threatens public safety but also the very fabric of American society. We've witnessed a growth of assaults on law enforcement officers, especially in major cities. Recent statistics show incidents of violence against law enforcement officers have reached alarming levels, with many attributing this trend to the brazenness of criminal elements taking advantage of the administration's laissez-faire attitude toward the border! Officers are increasingly finding themselves in life-threatening situations as they confront individuals who have little regard for the law or the safety of those enforcing it, causing the “War on Cops” to have escalated beyond control.

Compounding this issue is the failure of many liberal district attorneys to prosecute crimes. In the cities and states where liberal ideologies are bordering on socialism, justice, as we know it, no longer prevails. These prosecutors and district attorneys justify their lack of prosecution of certain crimes by turning away from the crime committed and citing leniency or political motivations for the lack of just sentencing. This discriminatory enforcement of the law not only undermines the integrity of the legal system but also gives offenders the resolve to commit more crime knowing that they will not be prosecuted, creating a dangerous cycle of impunity. Moreover, the porous border has brought with it a surge in drug trafficking, particularly the distribution of fentanyl by powerful cartels. Fentanyl, a synthetic opioid, has ravaged America and with transnational cartel activity across the country has led to a shocking increase in overdose deaths. The flow of fentanyl across the border has brought a new enemy to American communities, opioid and fentanyl distribution. In 2023, this caused more than 100,000 deaths in America, while lining the pockets of the cartels with the blood money of death and suffering.

The erosion of authority and the breakdown of justice and accountability is undermining the foundation of our society. When criminals rule citizens suffer; the rule of law becomes meaningless and faith in law enforcement to protect and serve is gone. The burden then falls disproportionately on communities already grappling with economic challenges, exacerbating social tensions and widening the divide in our nation. If left unchecked, the convergence of unprosecuted crimes, the fentanyl epidemic and associated violence threatens to destabilize American society and undermine its fundamental values. Addressing this multifaceted crisis requires a comprehensive approach that prioritizes border security, prosecutorial accountability and targeted efforts to combat drug trafficking. Securing the border is essential to stop cartels mules from entering the United States. As we've learned this requires physical barriers, technology and manpower, which the Biden administration refuses to admit. The drug cartels need to be destroyed not just toyed with as we've done for years.

Failure to act decisively has already caused irreparable harm to the fabric of our nation and the values we hold dear. It is time to confront this crisis head-on and safeguard the future of America for generations to come. Secure the border and bring down those who want to undermine the American Dream.
