Gangs Try To Seize Control Of Country’s Largest Airport, Civilian Massacres Reported

Criminal gangs in launched an unprecedented operation this week to seize control of that country's busiest international airport, leading to gun battles with police and soldiers and mounting civilian deaths.

The latest explosion of violence at strategic sites, including buildings, comes after a massive jail break from two of the island nation's most notorious prisons. Hours after the assault on Toussaint Louverture International Airport in Port-au-Prince, attacks commenced on the National Police Academy.

Violence continues to rage.

U.S. officials worry the rapidly deteriorating situation could exacerbate the migrant crisis on our southern border.
