In case you missed it, there was another campaign violation complaint for Congresswoman Val Demings (D-Fla). This time, the Marco Rubio challenger potentially violated federal campaign laws by accepting in-kind contributions from anti-parent Terry McAuliffe’s Common Good Virginia PAC, a state political committee. Val sure knows how to pick ‘em.

The Floridian reports:

Americans for Public Trust has filed a complaint Wednesday with the Federal Election Committee (FEC) against Florida Democrat Val Demings and Val Demings for U.S. Senate campaign over allegations the campaign violated the federal “soft money” ban.

According to the complaint, Americans for Public Trust argues that Demings accepted an “in-kind contribution” from Common Good Virginia, a non-federal political action committee, violating “soft money ban” under Federal Election Campaign Act (FECA). The PAC, set up by former Democrat Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe in March 2014, sent numerous email fundraising solicitations last month, raising political funds for Demings’ Senate campaign committee.

Florida Politics further explains:

The complaint contends Common Good Virginia is a Virginia-based political committee not registered as a federal entity.

McAuliffe lost last week to Republican Glenn Youngkin in the Virginia gubernatorial election.

“By approving and participating in this email solicitation, Representative Demings has accepted an in-kind contribution from an organization not regulated under FECA, in violation of the soft money ban,” the complaint states. It calls on the FEC to conduct an investigation and impose “appropriate sanctions.”
