Leftist Democrats and their complicit media partners are blaming climate change for the massive, unprecedented wildfires devastating Southern California. This, as they chastise those of us impertinent enough to place the blame on woke policies run amok, and atrocious Democrat political leadership.
They are especially livid at President-elect Donald Trump who has correctly blamed Democrats for the disaster, accusing them of “gross incompetence.”
Then there is Elon Musk who posted on X: “DEI [diversity, equity and inclusion] means people DIE.”
But the Democrats counter blame game is pure deflection and gaslighting.
As California radio host Jason Rantz writes: “Democrats immediately blame climate change for any disaster that they can because it covers up their own complicity.”
It’s clear and simple. This apocalyptic disaster has become the tragedy that it is mostly because of Democrats and their insane leftist policies, arrogance and sheer incompetence.
Maybe not all of it, but a lot of it.
I won’t argue that climate change had no impact on these wildfires, but the more pertinent questions are: were irresponsible budget cuts to the fire department a part of the reason the fire spread out of control?
Did the lack of water in the city’s water mains and hydrants impact the fire’s spread at all? And who and what’s to blame for that? Were Governor Newsom’s policies in any way responsible for the lack of water?
And what about dry, dead brush that hasn’t been cleared in years? Did that have any role in this fire?
Let’s start with the fact that there is zero evidence that the fires were caused or aggravated by “climate change.”

While the direct cause of these fires isn’t yet known, arson is always high on the list, as is a possible spark from a power line.
Meanwhile, the black “DEI hire” Democrat mayor of Los Angeles, Karen Bass, was visiting Ghana in Africa, “on official business” when disaster struck her city. A city mayor really shouldn’t be 7,500 miles away from her constituents for anything.
Especially not when the National Weather Service of Los Angeles began warning about “extreme fire weather conditions” last week.

When confronted by reports upon her return to L.A., she bumbled her way through a hastily prepared statement and stared blankly unable to answer questions.
But let’s continue.
As they blame climate change or attack Trump and Republicans, Democrats ignore the December 4, 2024, letter from the “diversity hire”—the manly lesbian Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) chief Kristin Crowley to the Board of Fire Commissioners.
As Rantz explains, in her letter Crowly complains that the severe budget cuts by Democratic leaders created “unprecedented operational challenges” that have already “adversely affected the Department’s ability to maintain core operations.”
She added that the cuts “severely limited” the LAFD’s “capacity to prepare for, train for, and respond to large-scale emergencies, including wildfires…”
Former Los Angeles Department of Water and Power commissioner Rick Caruso and L.A. City Councilmember Traci Park blasted the city’s firefighting infrastructure.
“The chronic under-investment in the city of Los Angeles in our public infrastructure and our public safety partners was evident and on full display over the last 24 hours,” Park said.

Then there is the fact that the woke DEI obsession of pursuing women and minorities and alternative genders over straight white men when hiring firefighters has produced a significant shortfall in the number of firefighters in the LAFD.
Not only that, but often women firefighters are unable to perform to the level of their usually bigger and stronger male colleagues.
In a post on X Musk accused city officials of prioritizing diversity programs over “saving lives and homes.” And he would be right.
Actor James Woods slammed the LAFD chief for making DEI her priorities while not filling the reservoirs with water to prevent the damage done by the L.A. wildfires.
He specifically cited a portion of Crowley’s bio that her “highest priority” is being devoted to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, or DEI.
“Our new fire chief… she took over and she put on her bio that her priority, ‘my highest priority,’ is inclusion, diversity and equity… and somebody forgot to fill all the reservoirs, I guess, with water.”
Biden, however, said on Thursday that the hydrants had been intentionally cut off from power, with officials worried that cables carrying energy could be blown and spark more fires.
Either way, seems incompetent to me.
One user on X reposted a cringe LAFD promotional video highlighting overweight waddling female firefighters extolling diversity while admitting they can’t do the job.
Epic narcissism. LA Assistant Fire Chief believes citizens care more about what she looks like than if she can do her job. Then justifies her lack of physical strength by blaming a victim of a fire for getting themselves into a dangerous spot.
Insane.

But what about California’s far-left idiot governor? Trump accused Gavin Newsom of blocking an infusion of water to Southern California because of concern about the impact on a threatened fish.
“Governor Gavin Newscum [sic] refused to sign the water restoration declaration put before him that would have allowed millions of gallons of water, from excess rain and snow melt from the North, to flow daily into many parts of California, including the areas that are currently burning in a virtually apocalyptic way,” Trump posted on Truth Social late Wednesday morning.
“He wanted to protect an essentially worthless fish called a smelt, by giving it less water (it didn’t work!), but didn’t care about the people of California,” Trump added.
The Sacramento-San Joaquin River Delta, one of the Golden State’s top water supply systems, has been fiercely protected by environmentalists over its dwindling smelt and Chinook salmon populations.
The delta smelt is a federally threatened species and a California endangered species, so courts have often dictated how much water the state can pump south and how much it can divert to the ocean.
In 2019, during his first term, Trump pushed changes that would have diverted more Northern California water to growers in the Central Valley.
However, these changes were opposed by far-left environmentalists over concerns about the impact on fish such as salmon and smelt.
The Biden administration, working with Newsom, then backed a different more restrictive water plan when he replaced Trump in 2021. And then there is California’s extremely poor forest management.
In 2018 Trump hit Newsom: “There is no reason for these massive, deadly and costly forest fires in California except that forest management is so poor. Billions of dollars are given each year, with so many lives lost, all because of gross mismanagement of the forests. Trump posted to X.
