War on Cops Continues: 10 Officers Shot in Three Days

In a violent week for nationwide, two Bristol officers were killed and a third seriously injured while responding to a fake 911 call Wednesday night. The incident brings the tally of officers shot since Tuesday to 10.

Flags fly at half-mast across Connecticut on Thursday in honor of the two officers killed in the line of duty. Sgt. Dustin Demonte, 35, is survived by his wife, two children and a third on the way, Bristol Police Chief Brian Gould told reporters. “We lost two exceptional Bristol police officers and a third was seriously injured as a result of senseless violence,” Gould stated.

Deputy Alex Hamzy, age 34, served with the force since 2014 and leaves behind his wife. A third officer, 26-year-old Alex Iurato, underwent surgery for a severe gunshot wound and remains in recovery, the police chief said.

Across the country in Las Vegas, another officer was killed during an exchange of gunfire with an armed suspect in a domestic disturbance call early Thursday morning. Responding officers contacted the suspect vehicle and were fired upon by 24-year-old Tyson Hampton, who fled and was later captured by police, Clark County Sheriff Joe Lombardo told reporters. Hampton sustained minor injuries and was due to be booked into the Clark County Jail for a court appearance on charges of murder and attempted murder.

Officer Truong Thai was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced deceased, according to Lombardo. Thai is survived by an ex-wife and daughter. The 49-year-old had served the police department for over two decades.

In Mississippi, another police officer was killed Tuesday in the city where she grew up. Greenville Police Department Detective Myiesha Stewart was shot while responding with other officers to a call. Several people were injured by gunshots, and an investigation is underway, according to WAPT ABC 16. The 30-year-old detective was the mother to a 3-year-old boy, the outlet reported.

Three SWAT officers were shot at while serving a warrant in Philadelphia Wednesday. A 19-year-old suspect fired at officers through a window as Philadelphia SWAT members approached the front door of the residence. One officer was struck in the leg, a second in the hip and a third in the chest during the ensuing exchange of gunfire. Danielle Outlaw, the city's police commissioner said she is “beyond disgusted” by the violence. “We are tired of having to send our officers into harm's way to serve warrants on suspects who have no being on the street in the first place,” she said.

A sheriff deputy in Florida survived a shot to the chest Wednesday thanks to the bulletproof vest he was wearing, the AP reported. Two deputies responded to reports of a domestic disturbance, and one of the deputies was shot in the chest by 41-year-old suspect Gabriel Batista.

In Illinois, Decatur police officers were shot and wounded while conducting a traffic stop Wednesday. The suspect failed to comply with officers and fired multiple rounds at officers from close range, according to the AP. One of the officers was hit multiple times and a second officer was hit once.

As of September 30, a total of 252 officers have been shot in 2022. 50 were killed by gunfire, a statistic that does not include fatal shootings of officers this month. Not including this week's incidents, 63 ambush-style attacks have taken place on police officers this year, resulting in 93 officers shot and 24 killed, according to the .

    • This country is sitting on a powder keg, and the left wing liberal democrats are pushing this country closer and closer to that powder keg exploding. When, not if, that second American revolution happens it will destroy this country and the United States of America will cease to exist, and be more divided than ever. There could well be two or three smaller land divisions of this country, each trying to survive. Our enemies will stand back and laugh at us for destroying ourselves, and they’ll be correct.
