Major Corporations Face Lasting Decline In Market Share: How We Got Here

ANALYSIS – One of the first things the left does exceptionally well is rewriting language and reframing debates to shift the Overton window.

We need to avoid these phrases at every step and call them out. You can’t successfully challenge ideas on the enemy’s terms.

It is what is behind the efforts of Bud Light, Target, Disney and Starbucks to push their unquestioning agenda on kids and families wherever they shop.

In recent years the acronym LGBT has been followed by even more letters: LGBTQIA (queer/questioning, intersex, and asexual or nonbinary) to cover previously only whispered, if spoken at all, identities and issues.

This coalition is also now being termed ‘pride,’ as in ‘proud to be LGBT.’ June is now officially Pride Month almost everywhere.

We must strive for tolerance and respect for every human being. But there are also immutable truths that cannot be overlooked.

As I’ve noted, science and biology point to only two primary sexes.

One can surgically and chemically change one’s physical appearance to look like the opposite sex, but one cannot change biology.

Gender dysphoria, a feeling of deep unease between one’s biological sex and gender identity, is a legitimate condition. By all accounts, it’s pretty rare, although its numbers have increased in recent years, coinciding with a greater tolerance from society as a whole.

I fear some vulnerable children may come to identify as transgender or gender diverse (TGD) due to social contagion only to regret their decision once it’s too late. The Youth Risk Behavior Survey found that children often first identified as TGD as adolescents. Those and other findings raised questions about the progression of gender dysphoria. While other studies, including one published in Pediatrics, argue social contagion isn’t causing more youths to become transgender, simply having this discussion is now considered by many unacceptable. Risk averse corporations are steering clear of it altogether.

“Pride is a long-standing and critical celebration across Disney and our Pride Collection is part of the company’s commitment to celebrate the LGBTQIA+ community year-round through our products, experiences, content, and philanthropy,” stated Disney.

But there’s unproven speculation that the social contagion factor is driving an increase in children who haven’t finished puberty, particularly females, to make them doubt their gender identity and, in extreme cases, pursue irreversible medical procedures to “affirm their true identities.”

And if you don’t agree or express concern about the vetting process for young children – you’re deeply misguided at best.

So let’s be smart about questioning the impact of the increase rates of children who identity as TGD. The percentage of left-handed people rose significant once the bias against them began to subside in the latter half of the last century. The same phenomena is happening with the LGBT community, who feel more comfortable than ever before to be who they inherently are.

That’s a good thing. But it should not keep us from making sure children are properly vetted or before undergoing life-alternating health care or reflexively dismissing studies with empirical data validating the social contagion hypothesis.
