Women’s And Children’s Lives Hinge Upon The Outcome Of Yesterday’s Supreme Court Hearing

-

Tuesday morning, the U.S. heard arguments in the cases FDA v. (AHM) and Danco Laboratories LLC v. Alliance for Hippocratic Medicine. The AHM is challenging the liberalization of access to the pill , which occurred in the last decade.

These changes currently in place allow the abortion pill to terminate babies up to 10 weeks gestation – up from seven weeks – without the requirement for in-person visits to doctors. It also allows the abortion pill to be mailed to women without ever meeting a doctor face-to-face. As a result of these reduction in health and safety measures, many women have gotten seriously injured; some have even died.

If the Supreme Court sides with AHM against the FDA and Danco Laboratories, the abortion pill could no longer be sent through the mail – which is illegal under 18 U.S. Code § 1461. Additionally, it could only be distributed in person by doctors – which would stop pharmacies from distributing it – and would only be used up to seven weeks gestation.

We call upon the U.S. Supreme Court to protect the women and children by ruling in favor of the AHM. Countries around the world look to the U.S. for guidance on policies such as life, so this decision will have a ripple effect throughout the world.

Please pray for the justices to put health and safety standards back in place and stand up for the most vulnerable in our society.
