Bannon Expected to Surrender to Law Enforcement Thursday

-

Former President Trump's onetime chief strategist and conservative provocateur is expected to surrender himself to in New York tomorrow.

Reports broke late Tuesday that the Manhattan district attorney's office indicted Bannon, 68. Though the indictment remains sealed, it was reported this morning that Bannon faces new fraud charges over his charity.

Then-President Trump pardoned Bannon after he was charged with conspiracy to commit mail fraud and money laundering in connection to the We Build the Wall campaign. In a matter of months, the campaign raised $25 million which partially went to constructing a three-mile section of border wall. The nonprofit said it hoped to construct 100 miles of border wall.

In August 2020, authorities charged U.S. Air Force veteran , Bannon, venture capitalist Andrew Badolato and then-DEA Acting Administrator Timothy Shea for enriching themselves with over $1 million in donations, including $350,000 that went to Kolfage directly. All of the men faced felony charges.

Kolfage and Badolato pled guilty while Shea's trial ended in a hung jury. President Trump issued a pardon for Bannon before his trial had ended.

Trump's pardon came less than eight hours before he left office.

Biden responded to the indictment with a furious statement, saying, in part, “I am never going to stop fighting. In fact, I have not yet begun to fight. They will have to kill me first.”

Politico adds:

“The SDNY did the exact same thing in August 2020 to try to take me out of the election,” Bannon said, referring to his arrest months before Trump's re-election loss.

Federal agents pulled Bannon from a luxury yacht off the Connecticut coast and arrested him on charges he pocketed more than $1 million in wall donations.

“It didn't work then, it certainly won't work now,” the former White House strategist said. “This is nothing more than a partisan political weaponization of the criminal justice system.”

Bannon, who had pleaded not guilty, was dropped from the federal case when Trump pardoned him on his last day in office in January 2021.

Earlier this summer, a jury found Bannon guilty of two misdemeanor counts of contempt of for defying a subpoena from the House Jan. 6 Committee.

  1. Lord help us all when our justice system is now politicized. Where was the LAW when Hillary, Obama Eric Holder violated our laws and nothing happened to any of them and their minions? But, if you are a Trump supporter or a conservative, the laws are tweaked to fit their accusations. Indeed we now have a TYRANNICAL GOVERNMENT. Pray hard Americans for God to save our Republic governed by LAWS and not Democrat mobs. May the Holy Spirit grant us wisdom to know the truth.

  2. Look at what is going on with BLM! No charges against those who steal donations for personal gain. Republicans in Congress are worthless. Except for a few, very few, they do nothing, say nothing and protect nobody, well maybe themselves which is why they are silent. Demoncrats have dirt on them! If Republicans win majority, they will spend years in hearings and send nobody to jail. I’m waiting for my Lord to Rapture His church!
