Donald Trump Jr. sparked controversy on Twitter yesterday by calling the United States of America a “third-world s**thole” following the conviction of his father, former President Donald Trump. The unprecedented verdict has fueled intense media coverage and rampant speculation, with legal analysts on CNN suggesting the possibility of the former president, and presumptive Republican nominee, facing jail time.
In a separate incident, an apparent Islamist terror attack occurred in Germany, adding to this week's tumultuous events. Details of the attack are still emerging, but it has already heightened security concerns in Europe's richest country and brought international attention.
According to preliminary reports, video footage shows a man attacking several people with a knife, including conservative politician and anti-Islamist activist Michael Stürzenberger. The attack took place while Stürzenberger was meeting with supporters in the southwestern city of Mannheim. A police officer intervened and shot the assailant.
