Two days after Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost (R) appeared on Fox News to question then-unsubstantiated claims that a 10-year-old rape victim had to cross state lines to seek an abortion, authorities in Columbus announced they’d arrested a 27-year-old man for the heinous crime.
Gershon Fuentes, 27, confessed to raping the child on at least two occasions. Per a source at Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Fuentes is a Guatemalan national living in the U.S. illegally.
The case was referred to the Columbus Division of Police (CPD) after the 10-year-old’s mother contacted Franklin County Children Services. The mother contacted child services on June 22. Her daughter underwent a medical abortion in Indianapolis eight days later.
According to some reports, the girl had to go to Indianapolis because she was three days past Ohio’s new six-week abortion law.
DNA from the Indianapolis clinic is being tested to prove Fuentes’ guilt scientifically.
The Daily Wire further reports:
Franklin County Municipal Court Judge Cynthia Ebner set bail at $2 million, saying the suspect is a possible flight risk and danger to the child.
It is still unclear whether Ohio law forced the girl to cross state lines to obtain an abortion, since the pregnancy likely would have caused a health risk to the girl and thus would be covered under Buckeye State law. Fox News’ Aishah Hasnie, citing a “source,” questioned whether the girl was “simply referred to an expert in a different state.”
Following news of the arrest, Yost released a short statement saying, “We rejoice anytime a child rapist is taken off the streets,” according to the Dispatch.
Yost later added that he’s “absolutely delighted that this monster has been taken off the street. If convicted, he should spend the rest of his life in prison.”
Multiple outlets, including The Washington Post, expressed skepticism over the story before Wednesday’s revelations.

The mother contacted child services on June 22, but there was nothing that the Ohio state’s AG accessed on 7/11/22 that even hinted of any report from either Columbus police nor the franklin county Children services which is MANDATORY! NOW 7/13/22 an Illegal alien is arrested and CONFESSES to the rape? This is a massive Media set up.
