California man faces federal charge after online bomb threats tied to vice president’s trip…
ANAHEIM, Calif. — A 22-year-old Anaheim man is facing federal charges after authorities say he posted chilling bomb threats on Disney’s official Instagram account — claiming “pipe bombs” were planted at Disneyland just as Vice President JD Vance and his family arrived at the resort last summer.
According to a federal criminal complaint, the posts appeared July 12, 2025, and warned of “bloodshed,” while vowing to target “corrupt politicians” during the Vance family visit.
Prosecutors say the suspect, Marco Antonio Aguayo, left three comments in total — including one that read: “Pipe bombs have been placed in preparation for J.D. Vance’s arrival.”

In other posts, Aguayo allegedly wrote, “It’s time for us to rise up and you will be a witness to it,” and warned authorities wouldn’t find the explosives in time, claiming “there will be bloodshed tonight” and that they would “bathe in the blood of corrupt politicians.”
The U.S. Secret Service traced the threats to an email address tied to Aguayo’s account, prosecutors said, and agents tracked him down near his home within hours. Aguayo initially claimed he’d been hacked — but later admitted he posted the comments, prosecutors say, describing them as a “joke” meant to get attention and laughs.
He surrendered his phone and laptop, then was arrested on Friday.
Aguayo is now charged with making threats against the president and successors to the presidency — a felony that carries up to five years in prison.
Officials, including Attorney General Pam Bondi, condemned the threats and praised law enforcement for moving fast, stressing that “jokes” about violence against public officials can still land someone in federal court.
