Police Reveal New Details About Armed Civilian Who Neutralized Mall Shooter

-

have shared new information about the armed bystander who neutralized a mass shooter in mere seconds.

A statement given by Greenwood, Police Chief James Ison corrected the timeline of the shooting that was initially given. Authorities originally said that two minutes passed from when Jonathan Sapirman, 20, opened fire before 22-year-old Elisjsha Dicken stopped him.

Surveillance video confirmed the shooter exited the restroom with a semi-automatic rifle and over 100 rounds of ammunition at 5:56:48 p.m. He opened fire immediately, killing Victor Gomez. He proceeded to shoot at mall patrons at the food court, killing Pedro and Rosa Pineda, a married couple from Indianapolis. The shooting spree further injured a woman and a 12-year-old girl.

WATCH:

Fifteen seconds into his reign of terror, Dicken neutralized the shooter from a distance of 40 yards. Using a 9mm Glock handgun, Dicken fired 10 rounds — hitting his target eight times.

The gunman returned fire once and attempted to retreat to the restroom — but collapsed to the ground as Dicken continued shooting.

State and local officials have commended Dicken's actions, which they credit with saving many lives. Police praised his actions, too, as the Daily Wire notes:

“I would like to make a correction on a statement made yesterday at the 2:00 p.m. press conference concerning the Greenwood Park Mall Shooting. There was an error in the timeline of events given,” Ison said. “The time lapse between the moment that [the shooter] exited the restroom and began shooting, and when he was shot by the civilian [Elisjsha Dicken] was only fifteen seconds, not two minutes.”

“The surveillance video shows [the shooter] exit the restroom at 5:56:48 p.m.,” he continued. “He was neutralized by Dicken at 5:57:03 p.m. This error was simply a result of misreading notes during the conference. I feel the need to correct this immediately. Thank you.”

Ison said that Dicken's actions were “nothing short of heroic,” adding that he was “very tactically sound as he moved to close in on the suspect, he was also motioning for people to exit behind him.”

Dicken hasn't received military or training. His grandfather reportedly taught him how to be a proficient shooter.

  1. We need more of these armed citizens that know how to handle a gun correctly and these mass shootings will slow down if not stop when the bad guys realize they will be shot by someone they do not realize has the means to take them out !!

  2. Praise God for Elisjsha Dicken!

Now just imagine if the Bible’s mandatory biblical responsibility for every righteous man to defend himself, his family, and others by whatever means necessary was in effect rather than making good men have to jump through the Constitutional Republic’s permit-to-carry requirements.

What’s proposed by the Democrats and others to put an end to these mass shootings is precisely the opposite of the solution needed to end them.

That said, the Republicans don’t have any solid solutions either, including their jump through the government’s permit hoops so as to be legal to carry. And thus the debate never ends and the slaughters continue!

If you truly want to all-but rid America of these shootings and other public crimes, we only need to return to the Bible’s non-optional responsibility for righteous men to defend ourselves, our families, and others. With nearly every law-abiding man armed ready to engage any active criminal, these shootings would be all-but eliminated overnight.

The Second Amendment will never accomplish this and is, instead, part of the problem.

America was sold down the river when the 18th-century founding fathers replaced Biblical responsibilities (based upon the moral law of God) for Enlightenment rights, and nothing demonstrates it better than the Second Amendment.

Think about it: The Amendment WITH the wording “shall not be infringed” is the MOST infringed, licensed, and limited Amendment of the entire twenty seven. Furthermore, a future generation of our posterity is likely to see the Second Amendment whittled away entirely or repealed altogether. This is inherent nature and danger of optional Enlightenment rights versus non-optional Biblical responsibilities, such as the following:

“Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a two-edged sword [or today’s equivalent] in their hand … this honor have all his saints. Praise ye Yah.” (Psalm 149:6-9)

“But if any provide not for his own, and especially for those of his own house [beginning with spiritual and physical protection], he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.” (1 Timothy 5:8)

Which is more potent: 1) An optional right, or 2) A non-optional responsibility?

Which is more likely to be infringed, licensed, and ultimately abolished altogether?

Which did the pre-Second Amendment Americans look to for their authority to bear arms, with little or nor infringement?

  3. Carrying under the new “constitutional carry” law which took effect on July 1. And which our RINO swampers didn’t want to pass!

    • Is it a really good shot or an amazing shot? 8 out of 10 speaks well for him either way. I tend to believe “yards” as emphasis was constantly being placed on “at distance.”

  4. ‘Merica. “Grandpa taught me.”
The way it should and needs to be, old men teaching the young.
