On Monday morning, authorities reported the White House was the latest victim of the concerning “swatting” trend.
“Swatting” is when someone makes a false report of a crime in progress to draw police to a certain location.
An unknown person reportedly called 9-1-1 to falsely report a fire at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue around 7 a.m. Monday.
The call drew more than a dozen firetrucks and EMS vehicles.
CNN's Betsy Klein posted to social media, “Another troubling, dangerous swatting incident this AM: A caller falsely told 911 that the White House was on fire and someone was trapped inside. A significant emergency response w/ multiple @dcfireems units dispatched in the 7a hour before it was determined to be a false alarm.”
President Biden was not at the White House at the time of the incident with Klein reporting the President spent the weekend at Camp David.
On Christmas Day, authorities were called to the residence of popular MAGA firebrand Marjorie Taylor Greene (GA). The Congresswoman shared that it was the eighth swatting incident she has experienced since being elected. (RELATED: Marjorie Taylor Greene Swatted On Christmas Day: ‘The 8th Time')
