CNN is reporting that at least four people are believed to have been killed, and approximately 30 others were injured in the shooting at Apalachee High School in Winder, Georgia. It is unclear how many of the injuries are from gunshot wounds. The numbers are preliminary and subject to change.

There has been a school shooting at Apalachee High School in Winder, Georgia (Barrow County). Preliminary reports indicate that the gunman is in custody, though there are multiple casualties.
“Details on the number or their conditions are not available at this time,” reads a statement from the Barrow County Sheriff’s Office.
CNN is reporting that a local hospital is receiving patients with gunshot wounds.
In a post on X, Georgia Governor Brian Kemp stated that he has directed available state resources to respond to the incident.
“I urge all Georgians to join my family in praying for the safety of those in our classrooms, both in Barrow County and across the state,” Kemp’s official account posted.
“We will continue to work with local, state, and federal partners as we gather information and further respond to this situation,” he added.
Special agents from the FBI’s Atlanta field office have arrived at the school to assist local law enforcement.
“This is an ongoing situation,” the Barrow County Sheriff’s Office stated.
