On Monday, famed singer, actress and producer Selena Gomez became visibly emotional in a now-deleted Instagram story as she addressed President Donald Trump’s deportation policies. The 32-year-old expressed her frustration and sorrow over the intensified immigration enforcement efforts that have escalated since the beginning of Trump’s second term.
“All my people are getting attacked—the children. I don’t understand,” Gomez said tearfully. “I’m so sorry, I wish I could do something but I can’t. I don’t know what to do. I’ll try everything, I promise.”

She accompanied the video with the caption “I’m sorry” and a Mexican flag emoji. Following decidedly mixed reactions, Gomez removed the video and later posted a message saying, “Apparently it’s not ok to show empathy for people.”
Since President Trump’s second term began on Jan. 20, 2025, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has reported a sharp rise in arrests.
On Sunday alone, ICE reported 956 arrests. The agency has emphasized that these operations focus on individuals who threaten public safety and national security.
In Boston, ICE apprehended multiple MS-13 gang members and individuals wanted for serious offenses such as murder and rape. These actions are part of a broader national crackdown on illegal immigration under the Trump administration, aiming to significantly increase daily arrests of undocumented migrants, particularly those with serious criminal records.

The administration has also expanded the authority of federal law enforcement agencies, including the FBI, DEA and ATF, to assist in immigration enforcement efforts, underscoring its commitment to removing individuals deemed threats to public safety.
Border Czar Tom Homan has promised that more arrests are on the way.
Gomez has long used her celebrity to advocate for immigrant rights.
In 2019, she was an executive producer of the Netflix documentary Living Undocumented, which follows so-called undocumented families in the U.S. She also shared her grandparents’ stories as Mexican immigrants.
Despite Gomez’s advocacy and her vocal opposition to Trump during the 2024 election, Hollywood’s political influence appears to be dwindling. A prominent Hollywood talent manager recently reflected on this trend:
“You had the biggest stars in the world support Kamala Harris. She couldn’t have drawn more powerful advocates. And it didn’t move the needle. What does that tell you? Movies and celebrities just don’t drive the culture anymore.”

The real shame is that these INVADERS from foreign countries are even here to start with. Coming to America without passport/permission is ILLEGAL.
