A Space Force sergeant – who also served two tours in Afghanistan with the Army – is currently behind bars in Colorado after shooting three teenagers who allegedly tried to steal his wife’s Hyundai.
Orest Schur – 27 – has been charged with first-degree murder and first-degree attempted murder after allegedly shooting and killing a teenage boy who was attempting to steal his car. According to the prosecutors, the murder is believed to have been premeditated.
The Denver Post reported the following about the incident:
“The Hyundai’s alarm went off shortly before midnight on July 5 and Orest Schur, awakened by his mother-in-law, confronted the two teens, dressed in black, near the house where he lived on East 59th Place, according to an Adams County District Court affidavit reviewed by The Denver Post.
After the alarm on the Hyundai went off, Schur and his wife observed damage to the door handles. They heard another car alarm going off nearby and saw taillights as the teens sped away in an apparently stolen white Kia Rio, the affidavit said.
Aurora police said Schur, who was armed with a Glock 19 9mm handgun, followed them.
He called 911 at 11:23 p.m., the affidavit said, telling a dispatcher that “there had been shots fired and he had been shot at while he was chasing some car thieves who had attempted to steal his wife’s car.” He called again and told a dispatcher he was uninjured, that he’d chased down car thieves, who had crashed, and that he had “shot back at them.”
Schur was held in Adams County Jail on a $500,000 bond but does currently appear to be in the booking system for the facility.
Their criminal career has been ended. Give the guy a medal.
That is what is needed. There is no justice for armed carjacking just because they are teens. Restart you do the crime you do the time no matter what age you are.

I’m sorry, but the guys situation was over. He had no reason to take the law into his own hands. He should have called the cops and let them follow the dickheads. I am not a freakin’ left wing radical, but someone who has been taught to THINK.
Also, the guy who claims to be a Viet Vet was maybe never in combat. Had he been, and at the time taken another human beings life, he wouldn’t have such a blase’ attitude toward life.
