Trump Argues Jack Smith’s Protective Order Violates Free Speech

-

On Monday, former President Donald Trump rejected special counsel Jack Smith proposed protective order.

Trump proposed in a statement on his social platform that Smith should follow a protective order himself because prosecutors were “illegally ‘leaking' all over the place,” he said.

“No, I shouldn't have a protective order placed on me because it would infringe upon my right to FREE SPEECH,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

On Friday, Prosecutors in the case asked a judge to impose a protective order, citing a post Trump had written on Truth Social that evening.

“IF YOU GO AFTER ME, I'M COMING AFTER YOU!” Trump wrote

The Trump campaign later released a statement saying the former President's comment was not attributed to a specific individual that the post was “the definition of political speech” and was in response to special interest groups.

Trump's attorneys have until 5 p.m. Monday to respond to any objections to the government's request.

Since being hit with the latest indictment news the former president has lashed out at numerous individuals, including his former vice president.

On Saturday, Trump posted on Truth Social attacking Mike Pence after he openly criticized the former president's behavior on Jan. 6th.

“WOW, it's finally happened! Liddle' , a man who was about to be ousted as Governor until I came along and made him V.P., has gone to the Dark Side. I never told a newly emboldened (not based on his 2% poll numbers!) Pence to put me above the Constitution, or that Mike was ‘too honest,'” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “He's delusional, and now he wants to show he's a tough guy. I once read a major magazine article on Mike. It said he was not a very good person. I was surprised, but the article was right. Sad!”

Last week, Trump pleaded not guilty to four federal charges related to his alleged effort to overturn the 2020 election results.

  1. Trump’s tacitcs might lead him to a republican nomination, if he doesn’t go to jail before the primaries. However, these tactics will amost certainly cause him to lose the general election. Not only will Trump struggle to gein support from moderate republicans, he will almost certainly lose moderate democrat votes. With a nation that has continually been split about 50/50 these last serval elections, he cannot win without support from the middle. In 2016 the rhetoric worked because voters were fed up with politicians. That is no longer the case. Now he just looks like a school yard bully.

    • I don’t think there are any moderate Democrat voters left. There are no more moderate Republicans. They are Rinos. If anyone casts their vote based on personality rather than the issue, they are the problem. I believe if Trump was not a fighter, his administration that has been under attack since day one, would not have survived. If you compare how well we were doing under his leadership, despite COVid, and still vote for a Democrat, you are the problem.

  2. After reading and listening to many well known legal experts and high flying lawyers I must agree that all of these charges are a politically motivated concoction looking for a victim. The experts are not at all sure any of these charges will make it to trial. That sure makes me feel a lot better. One even believes that the democRAT party has just signed it’s own death warrant.
That would be an excellent way to clean up the government with it’s accomplice Deep State and Swamp.

  3. Mr. President, tell others what you want to say…relatives, friends etc. and leave the stasi to themselves
