Woman With Rifle Spotted At Trump Tower, SWAT Responds

A rifle-toting woman entered in Wednesday morning.

teams have surrounded the building.

According to preliminary reports, the incident is related to a domestic dispute. Police have closed off the area to the public.

The Chicago Sun-Times reports:

About 11:25 a.m., the woman was brandishing a rifle when she entered the building at 401 N. Wabash Ave., according to two sources. The incident was thought to be domestic in nature and wasn't immediately linked to terrorism.

Police radio traffic shows officers were called to an apartment on the 27th floor, where the woman went after saying “she was tired of being abused by her husband.”

A Chicago police spokesperson said there was no threat to the public but wouldn't provide additional information.
