As the 2024 election cycle reaches its final stretch, Vice President Kamala Harris’s strategy appears to hinge significantly on celebrity endorsements and star-studded events. While the Biden-Harris campaign attempts to rally support through the allure of Hollywood elites, and has the power to draw a crowd, some political analysts are beginning to question whether celebrity endorsements truly sway the American electorate — especially as they’re the nation’s top earners, in a landscape where most voters list the economy as their primary concern, aren’t facing the same challenges.
Breitbart News reports:
Killers of the Flower Moon stars Robert De Niro and Leonardo Di Caprio reunited with several celebrity elites in an attempt to boost Kamala Harris in the crucial battleground state of Pennsylvania when they took the stage in Philadelphia on Saturday.
The Kamala Harris campaign enlisted Robert De Niro, Leonardo DiCaprio, Kerry Washington, Tessa Thompson, and Brian Tyree Henry for the Philadelphia get out the vote event. Kamala Harris didn’t appear at the “Philadelphians for Harris” event, but local politicians were present, including Philadelphia mayor Cherelle Parker.
The De Niro-Di Caprio reunion comes as Democrats are panicking as polling shows former President Donald Trump taking a slim lead in Pennsylvania. As Breitbart News reported, Trump leads Harris 51 percent to 49 percent in the most recent Emerson College/RealClearPennsylvania (RCPA) poll.
Di Caprio just endorsed Kamala Harris on Friday, citing her commitment to climate change activism — a cause that is central to the actor’s public persona despite his well-documented use of private jets and yachts.
De Niro began his speech by saying, “It makes me so fucking angry that we’re here talking about a piece of shit like Donald Trump,” and the crowd seemed especially receptive to his vulgarity, breaking out in cheers at “fucking angry.”
In a Q&A for Megalopolis that premiered at the end of September, De Niro sidetracked the entire event by ranting and raving about his hatred for President Trump.
The dwindling efficacy of celebrity endorsements may also be attributed to voter fatigue of being lectured by the rich and famous — especially on issues like climate change — only for them to contradict their message and engage in unnecessary practices (solely reserved for the richest of the rich) that contribute to pollution.
Moreover, the reliance on celebrities raises questions about the authentic appeal of the campaign. Are these endorsements truly reflective of widespread support, or merely a facade masking deeper vulnerabilities within the Harris campaign? As her approval ratings falter, the emphasis on Hollywood may indicate desperation rather than confidence.
By using celebrities, she also runs the risk of drawing in voters that don’t particularly care about a star’s political opinions, but are excited by the prospect of meeting them or taking a picture with them.
The Harris campaign notably held a campaign rally in Texas that reportedly drew a massive crowd of 30,000. Democrats used this event in a red state to paint a picture of enthusiasm for their presidential nominee, glazing over the fact that it was marketed to the public as a free concert, and the crowd size likely had more to do with the promise of a free performance from one of the world’s top pop stars than excitement for Harris. Many attendees quickly realized they had been lured to a political event under the guise of a music performance and began exiting the venue after the fact. This tactic underscores a growing reliance on the power of celebrity, a strategy that may ultimately fall flat as voters grapple with far more pressing issues.

She is a product of the liberal hollyweird set. Hate filled hearts and mentally challenged minds. Harris is an illusion created by a PR firm and a partisan media. She is a hollow vessel and anyone who watches her can clearly see it.
A candidate running for the most important job in the world who needs Hollywood elites and previously served Presidents to win an election is a candidate who has nothing to offer anyone!
Political polling is creating too much confusion for voters. Something must be done so that the pollsters that radically miss the outcome should be considered for Election Interference. Voting is not a JOKE.
she needs an endorsement from massachusetts politico “vermin supreme” to get full support. like kamala he waffles a lot.
