More backlash against “defund the police” candidates…
In a statement supporting incumbent Republican Georgia Governor Brian Kemp, 102 sheriffs in the state condemned Democratic gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams over her support of “soft-on-crime policies.” (RELATED: Police Groups Dump Nation’s Most Vulnerable Democrat)
The statement also criticized Abrams for “advancing the Defund the Police movement” through her board membership for a far left, Seattle-based grant-making group, which the sheriffs called an “anti-police organization.” (RELATED: Violent Crime Spike Linked to Defund Police Movement)
The sheriffs wrote:
Stacey Abrams has repeatedly shown complete disdain for law enforcement and the risk we take every day putting our lives on the line to serve our communities.
Ms. Abrams actively serves on the governing board of—and has profited from—an anti-police organization which openly advocates for abolishing prisons and stripping local police departments of their funding.
This year’s Georgia governor race is a rematch between Kemp and Abrams. In 2018, Kemp edged Abrams by 54,723. So far this year it has been a tight race with a recent poll from Eastern Carolina University’s Center for Survey Research showing Kemp leading Abrams 50 percent to 45 percent.
The organization noted by the Sheriffs is the Marguerite Casey Foundation, a vocal supporter of the #AbolishthePolice and #DefundthePolice movements, reports The Epoch Times (ET), as shown by the frequent mention of the two Twitter hashtags on the foundation’s social media account. ET also notes that “the foundation’s 2020 financial filing (pdf), available on its website, shows that it has given grants to groups including the Movement for Black Lives and Louisville Community Bail Fund.”
The sheriffs added:
Stacey Abrams also supports proposals that put criminals back on our streets and clears their criminal record, and she opposed legislation to crack down on human trafficking when she served in the state legislature.
ET reports that:
Abrams’s decision to skip voting twice on an anti-sex trafficking bill (HB 341) was a contentious issue leading up to the 2018 race. At that time, Abrams was the minority leader of the Georgia House of Representatives.
The sheriffs concluded by saying:
These policies and Ms. Abrams’ role in advocating for them put Georgia’s law enforcement officers and the communities we serve at risk.

Things in Georgia are much better the further you get away from Atlanta. Surely the real citizens of Georgia are smart enough to reject this left wing loony.
I have NEVER her her or any Democrat Ever state that they wanted to “Defund” the police. I Have herd Conservatives use this term as a smoke screen and diversion for there Fascist goal of taking over the government and controlling the citizens of this country. Although the Police are in a extremely urgent need of reorganization and redistribution of funds for better educating and screening evaluations of officers.
I’m sorry you haven’t been paying attention. Just for a visual, look at the Minneapolis City Council dais when they voted to defund the police. Note how the squad fell right in line with that. There are many other examples of Dem politicians advocating the defunding police, abolishing ICE, etc. You can’t change history because you realize it was a failed narrative.

Apparently, you look forward to Atlanta being in a second Chicago as far as crime and murder go. Why would you even consider voting for someone like Stacy Abrams? It is evident that you either don’t live in Georgia or you don’t care about your family and loved ones….that is if you even HAVE any loved ones!!!

I suspect she is very, very high on the list–should VP Harris become president if something happens to Biden–to become VP. She would then be foisted upon us nationwide.
She was a contender for VP last election but didn’t have enough national recognition. But now Star Trek has made her into President of the Earth she has an unlimited future. Tongue in cheek! As a Georgian I’ve witnessed our state being overwhelmed with transplants – California license plates abound . Hollywood is here having an impact of politics. However Atlanta isn’t the mindset of Georgians but it has the biggest megaphone . Kemp has indeed made mistakes but he also brought the State through Covid rather well. Sidebar – Her nickname among Kemp staffers is Chicken Bones – because during the last run for Governor she’d ride in a limo gorging on chicken tossing the bones on the floor .
Two thoughts:
(1) Stacey Abrams believes Georgia is the worst state in which to live. I suggest she go to the Atlanta bus station and purchase a ticket to any destination out of Georgia. The moment the bus crosses the state line millions of Georgians will break out into that Roy Clark song, “Thank GOD and Greyhound you’re gone”.
(2) I think Stacey Abrams realizes she is in trouble. She is telling anyone who will listen that our governor, Brian Kemp, should continue the state gas tax holiday until the end of the year. When a far-left Democrat suggests lowering taxes, for any reason, it is a good indication they see trouble on the horizon.
I did not think that there were that many ignorant people living and voting in Georgia .. these stupid africans are going to get their wish in some cesspool soon enough and the numbers of murders and other violent crimes will make the chicago watchers surrender the title of Murder Capital of the world… but through this all the really stupid aholes around the country continue to talk about disarming Real Americans..
