As Middle East Burns, Texas Responds To Porous Mess On Southern Border

-

ANALYSIS – Even as the Israeli war against the terror group and its various -backed terrorist allies threatens to drag in U.S. forces and potentially escalate to include attacks against Iran, America's southern border remains a national security concern. The massive and incessant waves of mostly unvetted illegal migrants, coordinated by Mexico's drug cartels, are overwhelming our country's resources and creating , vagrancy and potential homeland security issues here at home.

When you have millions of people from all over the world swarming into our country within a short period of time, you are overlooking a lot of logistical problems and potential dangers.

And clearly doesn't seem to care. (RELATED: Scandal: Biden Officials Helping Illegal Migrants Cross US Border)

Thankfully, the Republican governor of , , does.

He has been taking the lead in stopping the so-called border invasion at the state level in what is known as ‘Operation Lone Star,' which has used the State Police as well as National Guard troops from Texas and other states to help protect the border.

One of the most successful and controversial aspects of Operation Lone Star has been the series of barriers the governor has created.

These barriers include fencing, barricades and concertina ('razor') wire on land, and a string of buoys, also with concertina wire, deployed in the water along a 1,000-foot stretch of the Rio Grande in Eagle Pass, Texas, one of the hot spots for illegal border crossings from Mexico.

That water barrier has predictably sparked a left-wing lawsuit against Texas. However, in September, the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that the barrier could remain as the lawsuit moves ahead. (RELATED: Abbott Responds After Judge Orders Texas To Remove Floating Border Barrier)

Meanwhile, the Texas border barriers have been so effective that illegal migrants have begun moving their caravans to New Mexico to attempt illegal crossings there before entering Texas.

But Abbott isn't letting them just change tactics to get in the back door. At the governor's behest, the Texas National Guard is extending its border barriers into an area close to Sunland Park, New Mexico, which shares a border with El Paso.

On X Wednesday, Abbott touted his move to continue his El Paso barrier along the state's border with New Mexico.

“Texas installs fencing along NEW Mexico border,” Abbott wrote. “Our barriers around El Paso forced the migrants crossing illegally to enter into New Mexico. They then entered into El Paso from there. To end that, we are building a barrier on the New Mexico border.”

Proving the barrier's effectiveness, New Mexico and Texas Democrats condemned the action in a joint statement.

“This is the latest Operation Lone Star stunt funded by the working Texas family's tax-dollar that will result in environmental damage, community division, and injuries of vulnerable migrants,” they wrote. (RELATED: Local Residents Lash Out At AOC And Dems Over Migrant Crisis)

No, Democrats, the environmental damage, community division and injury to vulnerable migrants are caused by unvetted migration, including unaccompanied children, being encouraged, enabled and pushed to take dangerous, and sometimes deadly, paths to enter America illegally.

The consequences are on you.
