Biden Not Allowed To Walk To Marine One Alone Anymore

Good morning.

Congress is mounting its strongest challenge yet to President Trump’s Iran War, federal prosecutors have unveiled a sanctions-evasion case tied to Iran’s nuclear program, and investigators in Washington, D.C., are digging deeper into allegations that police officials manipulated crime statistics.

The House of Representatives voted Wednesday to approve a war powers resolution to limit unauthorized American military involvement in Iran.

Sponsored by Rep. Gregory Meeks of New York, the measure would require the White House.

ANALYSIS – In the latest phase of “Operation Keep Joe Biden from Falling or Looking Frail,” White House staffers must now accompany Biden on his short walk from the executive residence to the South Lawn when he boards the Marine One helicopter.

Apparently his stiff, shuffling gait and the risk of him falling on the soft grass in front of reporters’ cameras is now too big a risk for his staff to allow.

As The Daily Beast reports:

President Joe Biden has introduced a tactical change to the way he walks across the South Lawn of the White House when he’s departing or arriving aboard Marine One. Instead of walking to and from the helicopter alone, he now commonly walks surrounded by aides positioned between the Democrat and journalists’ cameras because it puts less focus on Biden’s stiff, shuffling gait, according to a report. Some of the president’s advisers told Axios that they became concerned that footage of Biden walking solo—particularly across the lawn—attracted attention to his age. The change to the Marine One routine appears to have started in April after more than three years of Biden walking to the chopper on his own. The White House has also reportedly introduced measures to prevent Biden from tripping up, with the 81-year-old president increasingly wearing shoes with additional support and using shorter stairs to board Air Force One.

Poor Biden needs helpers to walk to the presidential helicopter but is expected to manage international conflicts and potentially nuclear war.

Axios added:

White House staffers and reporters alike noticed the sudden change in Biden’s walk routine beginning in mid-April, after more than three years in which he’d typically walked solo.

Senior aides such as deputy chiefs of staff Bruce Reed and Annie Tomasini and close adviser Mike Donilon are among those who’ve walked with the president across the lawn to and from the helicopter.

Since the change, some advisers think the images of Biden’s walks to and from the helicopter are better, and they expect him to continue to have aides join him.

Meanwhile, notes Axios: “The White House also has taken steps to prevent the president from tripping, as he did last summer on a stage at the Air Force Academy.”

This includes wearing comfortable footwear with extra support, including a pair of black Hoka sneakers.

Besides the different shoes, Biden now enters Air Force One on a lower level, taking the baby stairs into the bowels of the plane rather than the more presidential and longer stairs used on earlier trips, and by all other presidents, to climb to the plane’s cabin.

While earlier resisting accounting for his age early in his presidency, Biden has been persuaded to shift gears recently, talking about it more openly in public events and in a campaign ad last month.

Maybe Uncle Joe should just start using a motorized scooter to get around. Or let his puppet masters just pull him along by his strings.
