Arizona Democratic Sen. Ruben Gallego is launching an effort to challenge a new Trump Administration immigration policy that could require many green card applicants to leave the United States and complete the process abroad.

According to a report from The Hill, Gallego is not only seeking to overturn the policy itself but is also pursuing a procedural strategy that could make it easier for Congress to reverse the change.

The dispute revolves around a recent U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) policy affecting how certain immigrants obtain lawful permanent residency.

TUESDAY PDB – Game changing – Pentagon alarmed by Chinese rush for ‘intelligentized’ warfare, but experts warn about over-reliance on AI. China could overtake the U.S. in AI capabilities by 2025 and lead globally by 2030.

It could change the global balance of power in their favor.

This, according to the latest Pentagon report on China. The CCP and PLA have designated the technology as key to “intelligentized warfare,” which is how the CCP views the future of combat.

The Pentagon admits China already is the world leader in facial recognition and natural language processing technology, but it remains “silent” on “certain foreign capabilities” to produce hardware, including the most advanced semiconductor chip factories and electronic design automation software.

“China wants to match and surpass the United States in AI by 2025,” Matt McInnis, senior fellow for the Institute for the Study of War’s China program. “The United States is at risk of falling behind China in this area, including the integration of AI into warfighting systems.”

China’s ability to fight and win “future wars” includes brain science that aims to integrate new biotech and AI applications, including a quantum computer capable of “outperforming a classical high-performance computer for a specific problem.”

It is spending over a billion dollars on a national quantum facility that will be the world’s largest such facility when completed.

RUSSIA THREAT – UKRAINE WAR

Military aid ensures the defense of Ukraine and Europe. The editorial, “A must-do list for Congress,” was on point, but overlooked one critical element to help Ukraine: seizing all Russian state assets in the U.S. to help fund Ukraine’s reconstruction before U.S. taxpayers are asked for help.

Ukraine allies provide ships to ward off Russia in the Black Sea. The U.K. and Norway will lead a coalition aimed at helping Ukraine secure its maritime export routes against Russian interference.

US must dominate in space to win future wars. The U.S. must dominate in space and the technologies deployable there to maintain an advantage in future wars, according to Marine Corps Lt. Gen. Matthew Glavy.

Why there should not be a norm for “minimum safe distance” between satellites. Outer space is infinite, but the parts of space near Earth are becoming increasingly congested. Satellites are filling up the space above the Earth’s surface. With this crowding comes an increase in close approaches between satellites, placing critical satellites at risk.
