General Tells Hawaii Marines – Prepare For War In Pacific

-

ANALYSIS- Even as , via his Secretary of State Antony Blinken, grovels at the feet of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) leaders in Beijing, yet another senior American military leader warns we are heading for war in the Pacific.

And he is telling his in to start gearing up for combat.

The last general who publicly warned of an upcoming war with was Mike Minihan, commander of the Air Force's worldwide Air Mobility Command. He said in January of this year: “I hope I am wrong. My gut tells me we will fight in 2025.”

And as I have written, I believe he is right.

The White House and Pentagon, however, quickly moved to rebuff that sentiment with statements that war is not predicted nor imminent.

Still, the feeling is clearly growing among the senior warfighters, that it is both.

This is a big reason Blinken's visit to mend relations with China was widely seen as weak and desperate. While Blinken and Xi China's leader Xi Jinping pledged to stabilize deteriorated US-China ties, most saw the spectacle as a victory for China on the global stage.

As the Washington Post reported: “This is good for China's international image, for its grand narrative,” said Shen Dingli, a Shanghai-based scholar of international relations.

As I wrote earlier, paraphrasing former National Security Advisor , ‘China is saying move over, we are in charge now.'

And militarily, the visit accomplished nothing for the United States. China rejected the only request Team Biden made – to open a channel of high-level communication between the two nation's armed forces.

This is just China softening everyone up as they further their aggressive plans.

And now we have a Marine Corps General telling the newly promoted commander of the newly stood up, 3rd Marine Littoral Regiment (MLR) in Hawaii (created specifically for a fight with China) that war will be coming during his current tour of duty.

This, according to Stripes.

Col. John Lehane told the paper: “He [the general] said, ‘you know something John, you're gonna have to have that unit ready for combat, and there's a good chance it's going to happen on your tenure.'”

Lehane further quoted the general as saying: “So I want to take an opportunity to publicly acknowledge that I understand that, and I will do everything I can to make sure these Marines and sailors are ready for that occasion should we be called to do so.”

While the Marine Corps' radical restructuring to fight China is taking a lot of flak for being too extreme and based on flawed concepts, the Marines will still likely be the tip of the spear in an upcoming Pacific war.

As Stripes reports:

The 3rd MLR officially activated last year and is the first unit of its kind. It is meant to serve as a blueprint for an ambitious Marine Corps plan to restructure its entire force amid boiling geopolitical tensions between the U.S. and China. Under an initiative called Force Design 2030, service leaders envision the Corps returning to its roots as a naval fighting force focused on the sorts of coastal and island operations it conducted in the Pacific during World War II, but with a 21st century twist.

Stripes continues:

Marine Corps brass want to see a leaner force that is more agile and adaptable, moving quickly across island chains while also packing a heavy punch. Among the changes is an ongoing effort to phase out all the Marines' traditional cannon-based artillery on Oahu to replace them with new ballistic missiles that commanders hope to use to sink enemy ships from batteries Marines would set up on islands and coastlines as they support U.S. Navy operations and allied forces.

The new design is geared largely with the Western Pacific in mind. A particular focus is the South China Sea, a busy waterway that nearly one-third of all global trade travels through. China claims nearly the entire sea as its exclusive territory over the objections of neighboring countries, and tensions are mounting over territorial and navigation rights.

While well-trained and functioning, these forces aren't fully developed yet. For example, they don't have the missiles, or even the next-generation amphibious ships they need. That needs to change, fast.

We need to accelerate the delivery of all the combat power and logistical support they want. Because, ready or not, these Marines, and many other American troops, may be fighting a big war sooner than any of us would like.

  1. Round up all the woke planners, commanders, generals, officers, and enlisted personnel, and send them into the war first.

If they can prove themselves in battle instead of soiling their panties, maybe folks back home will take a whole more positive view of them.

  2. Biden and his debauched administration have totally destroyed America, first, internally with its sick, woke agenda, and externally with its anti-west foreign policies, where its true friends, such as Israel, are now the enemy. Of course war is on the horizon with China! They would be fools not to take advantage of the disintegration of the USA.

  3. When it comes to war, the Marines will ditch the woke s__t, and fight like they were trained to do.
