ANALYSIS – As I have written numerous times, our nation’s premier law enforcement agency is increasingly being corruptly selectively weaponized by its leadership and used against conservatives, especially pro-lifers.
This is not only immoral and unconstitutional but does a grave disservice to all the decent and upstanding FBI agents in the Bureau.
And Republican lawmakers are making this an issue.
As Newsmax reports:
A group of Republican lawmakers wrote FBI Director Christopher Wray to request information on the rash of arrests and indictments of nonviolent pro-life activists.
Rep. Chip Roy, R-Texas, Sen. Mike Lee, R-Utah, and 38 of their colleagues sent a letter Wednesday to Wray demanding a briefing from the FBI on its use of the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances Act (FACE) Act.
“The recent rise in high-profile FBI investigations into pro-life Americans raises well-founded concerns that the FBI has amassed too much power and has become a partisan cudgel wielded by the Biden Administration at the behest of progressive activists against political opponents and dissenters,” the lawmakers wrote to Wray.
The Catholic News Agency (CAN) reported:
In the Oct. 12 letter to FBI Director Christopher Wray, more than three dozen Republican lawmakers asked why the bureau appears to be targeting pro-life people disproportionately under the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act — which is designed to protect pro-life clinics as well as abortion clinics.
I recently wrote about one recent example of this politicized FACE Act enforcement, where Catholic pro-life activist Mark Houck was raided by a team of heavily armed FBI agents in several vehicles and arrested in front of his seven children. As I explained, the 48-year-old Houck was charged with ‘physically assaulting a patient escort’ at a Planned Parenthood clinic in Philadelphia almost a year ago — charges that had previously been dismissed by state and local law enforcement because the incident was nothing more than a minor shove to keep the ‘patient escort’ from verbally abusing Houck’s son. The Heritage Foundation said of the incident:
The FBI’s raid of Houck’s home was designed to send a warning to pro-life activists engaging in activities protected by the First Amendment…
Local authorities didn’t even think Houck’s conduct warranted a misdemeanor assault charge, much less the two felony charges that he now faces.
But as CNA notes, this wasn’t an isolated case of FBI abuse.
…in September, Father Fidelis Moscinski, 52, a priest of the Franciscan Friars of the Renewal, was charged under the FACE Act for a nonviolent July protest during which he padlocked an abortion clinic’s gate shut. And in early October, 11 people were indicted under the FACE Act for their actions during a pro-life protest in March 2021.
The arrests and indictments of pro-life protestors throw into stark relief the fact that there is no evidence of FBI investigations or DOJ prosecutions related to the rise in violence directed at pro-life people and institutions since May 2022.
CNA has recorded nearly 100 abortion-motivated attacks against churches, pregnancy centers, and other entities in the United States since the May 2 leak of a draft opinion showing that the U.S. Supreme Court was about to overturn Roe v. Wade and return the question of abortion legalization to the states.
“[T]here have been no reports of FBI investigations or DOJ prosecutions” in relation to those attacks, the letter says — “[H]einous, violent, and organized crimes across state lines that are also subject to prosecution under the FACE Act.”
Heritage notes a slightly more conservative number of attacks against pro-life centers, but asks the important question about the FBI’s selective, politicized FACE Act enforcement:
Contrast this prosecution with the fact that vandals physically have attacked and damaged roughly 70 pro-life pregnancy centers, which also are protected under the FACE Act’s definition of a facility that “provides reproductive health services.”
So why hasn’t the Justice Department filed a single FACE Act indictment against anyone for those crimes?
Newsmax continues:
“Overzealous prosecutions under the FACE Act weaponize the power of federal law enforcement against American citizens in what should firmly be state and local matters,” the lawmakers wrote.
“Further, these abuses of federal power against pro-life Americans based solely on their beliefs undermine the American people’s trust in the FBI. This is particularly true since there have been no reports of FBI investigations or DOJ prosecutions in relation to the more than 72 pregnancy resource centers and 80 Catholic churches that have been attacked or vandalized since the Dobbs leak — heinous, violent, and organized crimes across state lines that are also subject to prosecution under the FACE Act.”
The lawmaker’s letter concludes by stating: “It is clear that congressional scrutiny of the FBI’s use of the FACE Act is needed to ensure the FBI is applying it as Congress intended and, if not, determine whether the FBI can continue to be trusted with this authority.”
Let’s hope this GOP oversight expands into full-scale investigations of the politicized and weaponized FBI after the November elections. ALD

Polls show the majority of Americans accept the fact the 2020 elections were rigged, including a lot of registered Dems. Agencies of the federal government are weaponized against Normal citizens in every way. COVID mandates, flooding our streets with vicious criminals previously incarcerated, violent homelesses, forced indoctrination, open borders, restricting fuel and energy supplies, rising prices on food and other necessities, and much more. They manipulated elections in their favor through outright fraud. How will Americans vote in the midterms? The survival of our nation depends on it.
