ANALYSIS – Kamala Harris could have picked a legitimate ex-Navy pilot and astronaut as her VP or a Jewish “moderate” governor from a key swing state.
Instead, she chose a far-left radical who embellished his military record and avoided deploying to Iraq with his unit so he could run for Congress.
Tim Walz, the leftist governor of Minnesota is the best choice Harris could have made, if her goal was to win the death-to-America, antisemitic, socialist vote. But he is the worst pick to show voters she wasn't as radical as her words and record prove.
I will leave Walz's far-left bona fides for a later piece, but now we need to look at his seriously “disturbing” military record. A record that, according to fellow Guardsmen, ended less than honorably.
Walz is the despicable John Kerry of today.
The New York Post reported:
Veterans have accused Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz of “embellishing” his military career and abandoning his National Guard battalion, highlighting that the now-vice presidential pick for the Democrats never served in combat and retired from service ahead of his unit's 2005 deployment to Iraq.
In a letter posted to Facebook in 2018 as he first ran for governor, retired Command Sergeants Major Thomas Behrends and Paul Herr said Walz retired from his 24-year tenure in the National Guard after learning that his battalion would be deployed to Iraq, despite allegedly assuring his fellow troops he would join them.
“On May 16th, 2005, [Walz] quit, betraying his country, leaving the 1-125th Field Artillery Battalion and its Soldiers hanging; without its senior Non-Commissioned Officer, as the battalion prepared for war,” Behrends and Herr wrote.
Walz, 60, wrapped up his military career just in time for him to launch his political career the following year, successfully running for Congress in 2006.
Behrends and Herr concluded. “When the nation called, he quit.”
Not only that but he reportedly ‘slithered out the door' rather than retiring properly, since he was rushing to avoid deploying with his unit to Iraq.
The Daily Wire noted:
“If he had retired normally and respectfully, you would think he would have ensured his retirement documents were correctly filled out and signed, and that he would have ensured he was reduced to Master Sergeant for dropping out of the academy,” the two wrote. “Instead, he slithered out the door and waited for the paperwork to catch up to him.”
They noted that his official retirement document says, “soldier not available for signature.”
The Wire continued:
Tom Hagen, an Iraq war veteran, wrote a letter to the Winona Daily News calling Walz's retirement “disturbing.”
“But even more disturbing is the fact that Walz quickly retired after learning that his unit —southern Minnesota's 1-125 FA Battalion — would be sent to Iraq,” Hagen wrote in the letter, according to Behrends and Herr. “For Tim Walz to abandon his fellow soldiers and quit when they needed experienced leadership most is disheartening. It dishonors those brave American men and women who did answer their nation's call and who continue to serve, fight and unfortunately die in harm's way for us.”
On Sept. 10th, 2005, “conditionally promoted” Command Sergeant Major Walz was reduced in rank to Master Sergeant for leaving the academy and not fulfilling his commitment.
In defending his record in 2018, Walz then lied, saying that in 2001, he reenlisted for “an additional four years following Sept. 11 and retired the year before my battalion was deployed to Iraq in order to run for Congress.”
Unfortunately, his official Report of Separation and Record of Service states that Walz reenlisted on Sept. 18, 2001, for six years, not four. Still, Walz quit on May 16, 2005, four months earlier even than his bogus four-year reenlistment date to avoid Iraq.
This, after his unit had received the warning order that it was deploying, not “a year before,” his battalion deployed, as he falsely claimed.
He also did not need to retire to run for Congress. And there appears to be more. One retired command sergeant major wrote that Walz “embellished and selectively omitted facts of his military career for years.”
Expect much more to come out about Walz very soon.

Don’t forget Blumenthal from Connecticut, another supposed military hero liar…..common thread among democrats it seems
Yep, a perfect pick for the camel.
Thank you Paul, once again. Those of us that live far from Minnesota need to know these dirty little facts about our current local leaders that seek to advance to broader authority and more power.
Until now, I didn’t know why I wasn’t particularly keen on Tim Walz? If he did this, there must be more to be disclosed. Leopards don’t change their spots! Marty
It doesn’t surprise me of this information concerning Tim Walz. I’m sure that as time goes on it will be determined that he wasn’t all what HE stated he was while in the service. I believe that will come out eventually BUT being what political party he is affiliated with, that doesn’t surprise me either. He can lie and still get away with everything like Joe Biden did.
Please bring this information about Tim Walz false military history to the news media, so it can be published Nationwide. Voters need to know what kind of character this person has. Fox News would be a good start! Thank you for your service!
There’s another f/u query that needs to be asked of Harris’ VP nominee: As he retired from the National Guard, it is likely that he is receiving “retired pay.” Is he receiving it as a retired Sgt Major, or as a Command Sgt Major? If the latter he’s committed fraud and owes the government a lot of money. In the event he’s receiving his actual retired rank, then it’s very clear he has intentionally misled the public about his service for many years.
