Massie Calls Trump’s Iran Strikes ‘Unauthorized Acts Of War’

Trump moved forward — without seeking congressional approval…

House Republicans and Democrats are sharply divided over President Donald Trump’s decision to launch military strikes against Iran, with many lawmakers arguing the action required prior congressional authorization.

Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) criticized the strikes Saturday, calling them “acts of war unauthorized by Congress.” Massie said the president acted without a formal vote and warned that the move expands executive power beyond constitutional limits.

Earlier this month, Massie joined Rep. Ro Khanna (D-Calif.) to introduce a War Powers Resolution that would require a House vote before the United States launches major military operations against Iran. The measure aims to limit unilateral presidential military action.

Massie’s criticism comes as lawmakers from both parties seek additional details about the strikes and the administration’s legal justification. Democrats have called for an immediate vote on a broader war powers resolution to restrict further military engagement absent congressional approval.

Sen. Tim Kaine (D-Va.) urged the Senate to reconvene, arguing that Congress must assert its constitutional authority in matters of war.

Most Republican lawmakers, including Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), appear to support the strikes as necessary to counter threats from Iran. The more libertarian faction, including many of the president’s heretofore staunchest supporters, disagrees.

Congress is scheduled to return from recess next week, when pressure is expected to mount for a vote that could put members on the record regarding the scope of presidential war powers.

From the people that cut funding for the securing of our border and the protection of Americans right now and are holding the American People hostage. Like they give the slightest shit about the Constitution.

Massie has his head so far up Rho Khanna’s ass he can’t see anything. Disgusting that he claims to be a republican and even more disgusting that the RNC supports a backstabbing traitor like him.

Do these congressional people remember ( from history lessons ) what happened because we DIDN’T stop Hitler in the 1930s?
Yes, there probably would NOT have been a 2nd WW.
But Iran was trying to produce atomic weapons. Imagine how that would have worked out if we and Israel hadn’t put a stop to that!
It would have made the 2nd WW look like a street fight!
We stand for what we believe ( with serious thought first ) or we fall for anything.
