The CBP One app, originally created to help migrants schedule asylum interviews remotely under President Biden’s chaotic open-border policies, has been repurposed by the Trump administration. Instead of being a gateway into the country, the app is now helping illegal aliens voluntarily report their intent to leave the United States.
This streamlined process gives Border Patrol and Homeland Security officials accurate estimates of voluntary departures—without clogging up detention facilities or dragging out court proceedings.
$1,000 to Leave – Or Pay $1,000 a Day to Stay Illegally
The Trump administration isn’t just streamlining exits—it’s incentivizing them. Illegal aliens who agree to self-deport can now receive a $1,000 cash incentive. Those who refuse? They’ll be hit with a $1,000-per-day fine.
This America First policy sends a clear message: if you broke our laws to get here, the best option is to go home—quickly.
ICE also published a guide to self deportation on its site, telling illegal migrants, “you do not need to turn yourself in to an ICE office if you intend to self-deport. You may simply leave the country.”
“If you’re illegally present in the U.S., you can leave at any time. You don’t have to wait for ICE officials to find, arrest, detain and remove you. You can plan and organize your affairs,” the government agency explains. “If ICE officials arrest you, there’s no going back — you may not have time to get your affairs in order, gather your belongings, or even say goodbye to the people you care about.”
“Removal comes with other consequences, too, including bars to reentry. Bars to reentry are penalties for violating U.S. immigration law,” the law enforcement agency says under a sub-head that reads “If You Don’t Self-Deport.”
“Being barred from reentry means the U.S. government won’t let you come back into the U.S. — even for a short visit.”
