Republicans Launch Probe Into Afghanistan Withdrawal

-

President Biden will finally be forced to answer for the disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan.

A top House Republican has officially launched a probe into the 's 2021 withdrawal, sending a letter to Secretary of State Antony Blinken.

House Foreign Affairs Committee chairman Michael McCaul (R-Texas) is requesting additional information related to the chaotic withdrawal which led to the quick Taliban takeover of Kabul and the death of 13 American troops in a terrorist attack.

“It is absurd and disgraceful that the Biden administration has repeatedly denied our longstanding oversight requests and continues to withhold information related to the withdrawal,” McCaul said in a statement. “In the event of continued noncompliance, the Committee will use the authorities available to it to enforce these requests as necessary, including through a compulsory process.”

According to The Hill, McCaul is seeking intelligence assessments, internal agency documents, and communications with the Taliban and Afghan .

Republicans are also expected to issue subpoenas to compel U.S. officials to sit for depositions in the probe.

McCaul on Thursday said he takes the obligation of investigating the withdrawal “very seriously” and will “pursue this investigation until all our questions are answered and all parties responsible are held accountable.”

“We owe this to the American people, especially our service members and ,” the lawmaker said in his statement.

Republicans have been hinting for months at launching an investigation into the disturbing withdrawal that captivated the world as reports and photos revealed a frantic effort to escape the country.

In a report completed last year, Republicans on the Foreign Affairs Committee slammed the White House for sloppy planning, understaffing at 's largest airport, and failing to anticipate the wave of refugees. The White House rebuked the report's findings.

  1. Blinken is OWNED by the “bad guys” and if you expect him to do anything (which I suppose the idiot GOP pretends to believe), you’re delirious

  2. I’ve always suspected that the CCP ordered “someone” in the WH. to get out of Afghanistan by the 31st of August because they wanted that U.S base that is near China border. That “someone” obeyed and complied
