ANALYSIS – The latest intelligence reporting indicates that one of America's greatest foes, Iran, is deathly afraid of former President Donald Trump. So much so that its regime has aggressively hacked his election campaign and is plotting his assassination.
Iran's attempt to assassinate a former president and current presidential candidate clearly demonstrates how American weakness under Joe Biden and Kamala Harris has emboldened Tehran to pursue reckless and dangerous actions.
Why are they going after Trump? Because unlike the Biden-Harris administration, compromised by Iranian agents and hell-bent on aiding and abetting our Persian foes, Trump's team implemented a tough “maximum pressure campaign” against the terror-sponsoring Islamist dictatorship.
That included harsh sanctions that were bringing the regime to its knees in 2020. Perhaps more significantly, it also included the January 2020 targeted surgical strike on Iran's terrorist Quds Force commander, General Qasem Soleimani in Iraq.
Iran vowed revenge for that killing, but four years later, still hasn't done much. But not for lack of trying.
Meanwhile, under Biden-Harris, things have been going extremely well for Iran. Oil exports have jumped from about 500,000 barrels per day in late 2020 to about two million barrels per day today.
Meanwhile, the current administration has unfrozen billions of dollars in Iranian financial reserves. And Tehran's nuclear weapons program has expanded unimpeded, to the point that they are potentially weeks aways from ‘nuclear breakout.'
Understanding that their window of opportunity is shrinking with the lame duck Biden-Harris administration, and with at least a 50-50 chance that Trump will return to office, the Iranians are going all-in to damage or kill the former president.
Newsweek reports:
The FBI just announced that Iran was responsible for hacking the Trump campaign as part of a plot to disrupt the campaign.
More worrying is that Iran was actively working toward killing Trump. The FBI has arrested and charged a Pakistani man who traveled to Iran before returning to the United States and trying to hire a hitman to kill someone with a security detail who had hurt the Muslim world. It is quite likely Trump was the intended target. The Secret Service took the threat seriously enough to increase Trump's security. Moreover, Iran has a history of plotting—and carrying out—violent attacks in the United States, including against former senior officials using similar methodology.
Of note, the Biden-Harris administration has yet to take any action to hold Iran responsible for the assassination plot and hack against Trump.
Newsweek concludes: “That a foreign adversary would even consider killing on American soil the previous and possibly next U.S. president indicates how weak they perceive the United States to be.”
I would add “or complicit.”
Team Biden-Harris has also been weak in responding to Iranian proxy attacks on American forces in the region.
The Jewish Institute for National Security of America (JINSA) “has tracked 263 attacks on U.S. forces in the Middle East since Biden became president – 87 before Hamas's barbaric Oct. 7 attack on Israel and 176 since.”
It adds: “The most recent came on Aug. 5, just days before news of the plotter's arrest. The administration has meekly responded with just 17 rounds of airstrikes, usually against unmanned facilities…”
As most national security experts understand, a weak and flaccid response is often worse than no response at all. This is why Iran will continue to do whatever it can to keep Trump out of the White House – even trying to kill him.

It’s just TOO convenient to blame all this on Iran. I don’t think they had anything to do with it….which leaves you know who. Why? The answer is in a quote from the above: “The FBI just announced…..” That’s all I need to know.
