Arizona Democratic Sen. Ruben Gallego is launching an effort to challenge a new Trump Administration immigration policy that could require many green card applicants to leave the United States and complete the process abroad.

According to a report from The Hill, Gallego is not only seeking to overturn the policy itself but is also pursuing a procedural strategy that could make it easier for Congress to reverse the change.

The dispute revolves around a recent U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) policy affecting how certain immigrants obtain lawful permanent residency.

Trump belittles Medal of Honor award in campaign speech. Former President Donald Trump on Thursday said the Presidential Medal of Freedom is a “better” award than the Defense Department’s Medal of Honor because service members have to sacrifice their lives or health to receive the military’s highest honor.

This as he introduced a major Jewish supporter who he bestowed the Medal of Freedom to in 2018

OF COURSE – Harris campaign knocks Trump for saying civilian honor is better than Medal of Honor. Harris’s campaign knocked Trump for his assertion that a civilian honor was better than the highest military honor, arguing that he knows nothing about service.

Six veterans on Tim Walz’s and JD Vance’s military service. What do ‘stolen valor’ and ‘at war’ really mean? And what do veterans owe each other?

House GOP investigators accuse Biden of ‘impeachable conduct’ in long-awaited report. It’s unlikely to change the fact that Republicans don’t have the votes to impeach the president.

US POWER OVERSEAS

WATCH – Amid rising tension, SECDEF Lloyd Austin orders submarine to the Middle East.

The US needs more pop-up air bases worldwide to keep enemies guessing. The U.S. Air Force completed the eight-day Bamboo Eagle 24-3 exercise on Aug. 10, bringing over 3,000 service members and more than 150 aircraft together in the Western U.S. and Eastern Pacific. These drills are critical to strengthening the Air Force’s ability to operate in contested environments at all echelons, which is essential to deterring and defeating aggression in the Pacific, Europe, and the Middle East.

US military presence in Syria carries substantial risks, but so does complete withdrawal. U.S.-backed forces in eastern Syria launched a major attack on three posts manned by pro-government gunmen on Aug. 12, 2024, killing at least 18 Iran-backed militants in a rare provocation near the border with Iraq. The assault marked the worst clashes in eastern Syria in nearly a year.

CHINA THREAT

Future of Taiwan is strategically important to America: US INDOPACOM chief. Preventing a forceful takeover of Taiwan by China is strategically important to America because the “knock-on” effects of such a conflict would foment global chaos and misery.

Chinese and Philippine ships collide again in disputed waters, and the countries are trading blame. The collision damaged at least two vessels in an encounter early Monday near a new flashpoint in their increasingly alarming confrontations in the disputed South China Sea.

China ‘dramatically’ alarmed by US missile deployment to the Philippines, warning it could destabilize the region. But Manila’s top diplomat reassured his Chinese counterpart that the weaponry was only in the country temporarily.

RUSSIA THREAT – UKRAINE WAR

Zelenskyy envisions buffer zone as Ukraine pushes into Kursk region. This, to prevent further attacks by Moscow across the border.

Ukraine’s offensive derails secret efforts for partial cease-fire with Russia. The warring countries were set to hold indirect talks in Qatar on an agreement to halt strikes on energy and power infrastructure.

Russian marines capture group of 19 Ukrainian soldiers in Russia’s Kursk region. The state RIA news agency described the Ukrainians as “saboteurs.”

Probe at German military base finds no evidence that the water supply was tampered with. This, two days after the facility was sealed off for hours over fears of possible sabotage.

I believe that this is the worst that the Democratic Party has ever been in this country. Its leaders and followers must be uneducated to agree with the policies that they are running on.
