President Donald Trump stepped in over the weekend to defend conservative radio host Mark Levin after a public clash with former Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly spiraled into personal attacks.
The dispute, which began over disagreements about the escalating conflict with Iran, has become the latest flashpoint in a widening divide among right-leaning media figures.
In a lengthy post on Truth Social, Trump praised Levin while sharply criticizing those attacking him, including Kelly.
Trump Backs Levin
Trump’s response came after Kelly drew widespread attention online when she mocked Levin in a post that received more than 40,000 likes, accusing him of having a “micropenis.”
The president responded with a 313-word message defending the longtime conservative commentator.
Trump called Levin a “truly Great American Patriot” and said he was “far smarter than those who criticize him.” He also praised Levin’s “Great Wisdom and Common Sense,” describing him as someone who deeply loves the country.
Trump argued that many of Levin’s critics are motivated by jealousy.
“The people who attack Mark are jealous and angry human beings,” Trump wrote, adding that their influence is “much less than the public understands.”
He ended the post with a pointed political message aimed at critics within conservative circles.
“Those that speak ill of Mark will quickly fall by the wayside, as do the people whose ideas, policies, and footings are not sound,” Trump wrote. “THEY ARE NOT MAGA, I AM.”
The post received nearly 12,000 likes on Truth Social.
What Sparked the Feud
The conflict between Levin and Kelly has been building for days as tensions rise inside conservative media over foreign policy, particularly U.S. and Israeli military action against Iran.
Levin, a longtime supporter of a more aggressive approach toward Tehran, lashed out at Kelly on social media. He called her “emotionally unhinged” and described her commentary as “toxic.”
Kelly responded with personal insults of her own and accused Levin of obsessively targeting her online.
The debate over Iran and America’s role as the world’s policeman has drawn in prominent conservative figures including Tucker Carlson, Ben Shapiro, and Candace Owens, underscoring deeper divisions within the right-wing media ecosystem.
Levin Responds
After Trump publicly backed him, Levin posted a message thanking the president for the support.
“I am beyond humbled,” Levin wrote, adding that he would “not be intimidated” by critics.
A Larger Divide on the Right
The dispute reflects a broader split among conservatives, particularly over Trump’s approach to Iran as fighting persists in the Gulf.
Attacks in the region have severely disrupted traffic through the Strait of Hormuz, a critical global oil shipping route. The instability has pushed energy prices sharply higher, with analysts warning crude could surge toward $200 per barrel if the conflict escalates further.
Some conservative voices, including Levin and Shapiro, have strongly backed Trump’s hardline position toward Iran.
Others, including Kelly and Carlson, have increasingly questioned the strategy and its endgame, warning it could lead to a wider war.
The fight between two of the right’s most recognizable media figures shows how those divisions are now spilling into the open.
