TUESDAY PDB – VIDEO – The drones are coming – how will the Army defend? As cheap, deadly drones fill the skies over the Army's next fight, how does it plan to defeat them?
The Army is putting a premium on drone and counter-drone equipment in light of the Russia-Ukraine war and is scoping out sci-fi-style energy weapons to combat aerial threats.
A directed energy proving ground is emerging in the greater Middle East, where laser and microwave weapons face real-world, punishing conditions.
This effort includes lasers and microwave weapons.
Enter ‘Operation Hard Kill.' US Army eyes drone-soaked Middle East to refine energy weapons. It envisions a future battlefield swarming with sensors and electronics, swollen with digital chatter and interference, and starving for overhead defenses.
MEANWHILE – Winning tomorrow's fight: Airpower must maximize electronic attack, a key aspect of warfighting.
FOR YOUR EYES ONLY – Here's a roundup of today's other top defense stories from conservative national security expert PAUL CRESPO.

LOL – NO – SHE ABSOLUTELY IS NOT! – Kamala Harris is ready to lead our military. No woman has ever been America's defense secretary. No woman has been chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. And no woman has ever served as commander in chief, the president.
BIDEN-HARRIS' AFGHAN DISASTER
The Afghanistan War Commission seeks better resources for ‘daunting' task. The independent group tasked by Congress has released a first report on its work — and it reveals it's already encountering hurdles that could jeopardize its ability to deliver in the appointed timeline.

From formation to tent city: New doc follows vets' fight for housing. At a long row of Coleman tents lining the sidewalk, nearly all with American flags neatly affixed to the front, the outrage of a veteran-specific homeless community in the heart of Los Angeles might not fully resonate. But when paired with the sprawling and partially empty Department of Veterans Affairs campus this homeless “Veterans Row” abuts, the dissonance is complete.
