An internal memorandum from the Department of Veterans Affairs made waves Tuesday after it was shared on social media.
The memo – appearing to be from the Department of Veterans Affairs Assistant Under Secretary for Health for Operations – instructed the removal of the iconic “V-J Day Kiss” photograph from “all Veteran’s Health Administration facilities” because the kiss has since been discovered to have been “non-consensual.” (RELATED: Ruins Of Famous Building Missing Since WWII Found)

Sen. Steve Daines of Montana – who is also heading up the Senate Republican campaign arm this year – tweeted that he would be “sending a letter to SecVa calling for this guidance to be rescinded.” (RELATED: Montana Republicans Pass Bill To Limit Authoritarian Technology)
This is beyond parody and yet another example of @JoeBiden putting the Left’s woke agenda ahead of veteran care. I will be sending a letter to SecVA calling for this guidance to be rescinded. pic.twitter.com/Gj9SUT4TeC

About an hour prior to Danies’ tweet, Biden administration Veterans Affairs Secretary Dennis McDonough responded to the buzz on social media, stating that the image was “not banned” and that it will be kept in VA facilities.
Let me be clear: This image is not banned from VA facilities – and we will keep it in VA facilities. pic.twitter.com/dYSikLxHAJ

It appears that the Department of Veterans Affairs Assistant Under Secretary for Health for Operations or a member of his team didn’t run this order up the chain of command prior to signing off on the letter.
