Will Iran’s Hezbollah Terrorists Attack Israel With 150,000 Missiles?

-

ANALYSIS – The question might be not just if, but when the radical Islamic terror group based in southern Lebanon will cross the line. And when enters the fight more fully, the war can quickly escalate to include .

And then the United States.

This is because Hezbollah is directly controlled by Iran and is that extremist Islamic nation's premier proxy terror group. It would also open a major second front in the north against the tiny, but powerful, nation of .

And Hezbollah is extremely well-armed by Iran. It has ten times the firepower of Hamas. Its long-range firepower is believed to number around 150,000 rockets including hundreds of ballistic missiles capable of putting most of Israel within its reach.

Violence at the Lebanese Israeli border is the deadliest there since 2006 as Israel bombards Hezbollah's Palestinian ally Hamas in Gaza – a response to the inhuman Oct. 7 Hamas terror attack on Israel that slaughtered over 1,400, mostly civilian, Israelis.

In that attack, Hamas used motorbikes, hang gliders and bulldozers to conduct their massacre of Israelis in their homes and at a music festival.

The Hezbollah terror leader, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, recently said that the fighting along Lebanon's southern border with Israel's northern border has witnessed changes in recent days, including the weapons used and the depth of the strikes inside Israel.

He said that Hezbollah has been sending unmanned surveillance and reconnaissance drones into northern Israel, some of which were shot down while others returned to base with valuable intelligence. (RELATED: Terrorists ‘Will Continue To Attack American Forces' Hezbollah Leader Warns)

The violence along the border has killed more than 60 Hezbollah fighters and 10 civilians, Lebanese security officials say. At least seven Israeli soldiers and one civilian have been killed.

Some say Hezbollah's arsenal could have upwards of 200,000 rockets and missiles, which could now be augmented by weapons with larger warheads.

One of Hezbollah's most intimidating rockets is the “Katyusha” series – inspired by Soviet designs.

They can carry warheads up to 28 miles and are difficult to intercept thanks to their short flight time and low trajectory.

Hezbollah's rocket inventory also features much heavier rockets such as the Zelzal series. With a range of up to 160 miles, they can blast targets much deeper in Israel causing greater destruction.

Saturday, Hezbollah said its fighters attacked at least three Israeli military outposts as well as an infantry unit on the Israeli side of the border.

According to Nasrallah, those attacks on Israel included one Burkan rocket against an Israeli military post along the border. He said the rocket can carry a warhead that weighs between 300 kilograms (661 pounds) and 500 kilograms (1,100 pounds).

“You can imagine (what happens) when half a ton of explosives fall on Israeli posts,” Nasrallah said.

Meanwhile, the Israeli military said its aircraft struck a series of Hezbollah targets in response to Hezbollah attacks from Lebanon. The Israeli Defense Force (IDF) said their targets included infrastructure, military posts, weapons depots, and intelligence infrastructure.

Will Hezbollah launch a major attack? That's unsure now. A lot depends on whether can deter Iran from escalating.

But a lot depends on other factors, like Israel, and public pressure for Hezbollah to do more. (RELATED: Israel Agrees To Daily 4-Hour Humanitarian Pauses In North Gaza Fighting)

Still, The Sun reported that Sarit Zehavi, CEO of Alma – an independent research center focused on Israel's security threat on its northern border – says Hezbollah could be on the verge of launching a similar slaughter to what Hamas committed last month.

She told The Sun: “It [Hezbollah] has the same operational plan as what we've seen on October 7th with Hamas. She added:

Hezbollah has a unit named the Red One Brigade, composed of a few thousands of experienced terrorists. Their mission, once they get the order, is to invade into the Israeli communities and cities up north where I live and kill Israelis and take them as hostages to become human shields.

This is according to their plan, that they published.

Zehavi is also one of those who believes Hezbollah has more than 200,000 rockets and missiles.
