The Biden administration is finding out the hard way that many progressives believe Israel is at least partially responsible for the Oct. 7 terrorist attack carried out by Hamas.
The controversial view isn't limited to the party's activist base, as Kamala Harris' family has learned.
The New York Post reported that Ella Emhoff, the vice president's stepdaughter, has begun actively promoting an $8 million fundraising campaign “supporting urgent relief for Gaza's children.” The campaign has raised $7.8 million thus far – funds that Hamas will be able to siphon off, according to one member of the House Homeland Security Committee.
“It's of tremendous concern, and I find it abhorrent,” New Jersey Republican Jeff Van Drew lamented.
“To be honest with you, I am kind of stunned by it. It's disturbing to the maximum degree.”
Ella's father, First Gentleman Doug Emhoff, is Jewish, but she doesn't identify as Jewish.
The Post continued:
She is close with her stepmother, who congratulated her in an X posting after Emhoff's graduation from Parsons in 2021.

Last month President Biden announced that he would send $100 million in “humanitarian assistance” to the Palestinians — prompting swift backlash from Republicans seeking to challenge him in the 2024 presidential contest.
Former President Donald Trump, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley, South Carolina Sen. Tim Scott, and North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum have all denounced the idea.
Representatives for Emhoff did not respond to request for comment from The Post.
