Gov. Ron DeSantis has stood firm despite facing pressure from a mega-corporation that turned dozens of square miles of Florida swampland into the number one tourist destination on earth.
For fifty years, Disney has been the biggest political power in the Sunshine State. “The Happiest Place on Earth” dominates the Central Florida economy, producing an estimated $75+ billion in annual economic impact, 463,000 jobs and $6 billion in tax revenue. Walt Disney's insistence on choosing Orlando as the destination for his premier American theme park transformed the sleepy town and its suburbs of less than 400,000 to over 2,500,000.
So, when Disney CEO Bob Chapek attempted to leverage his clout to get DeSantis to veto the Parental Rights in Education bill, socially conservative activists held their breath.
For those who don't know, the Parental Rights in Education bill prohibits Florida teachers from teaching children under the age of eight about sex. Critics refer to it as the “Don't Say Gay” bill.
Yet DeSantis remained firm in his support for the bill, standing his ground in a phone call with Chapek. (RELATED: DeSantis Rejects Biden's State of the Union Request)

“Here's what I can tell you, in the state of Florida, we are not going to allow them to inject transgenderism into kindergarten. First graders shouldn't have woke gender ideology imposed in their curriculum and that is what we're standing for because we're standing for the kids and we're standing for the parents,” DeSantis said to a group of parents Thursday afternoon.
Disney is the largest corporation in the state, where Disney World is located, and DeSantis didn't budge. He also called the corporation out for their business in China.
“How do they possibly explain lining their pockets with their relationship from the Communist Party of China? Because that's what they do, and they make a fortune, and they don't say a word about the really brutal practices at the hands of the CCP,” he continued.
The praise is rolling in for the move.

Good for Ron. These radical left wing liberals are brainwashing our young children with a subject that they haven’t a clue what it even is. It’s bad enough they force feed that stuff down the throat of the older children. It’s no wonder this country keeps getting more screwed up every day.

Praise God for Ron De Santis! You know it’s interesting to me, how many woke participants somehow think they know better than God! God’s Words for us to live by, written down by those who walked with Jesus and and heard God’s voice, and were filled and led by God’s Holy Spirit, make it clear that “it is unnatural for a woman to lie with woman, or a man to lie with a man” Romans 1:8 God created Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve. God’s order was for a man to love his wife as Jesus loved the church and was willing to die for her; the man being the spiritual leader of the family! To teach contrary to the Bible is ignorance; for the beginning of wisdom IS the acknowledgement of God. As parents we MUST guard our children from teachings contrary to the Word of God. Just because some people haven’t discovered God in their lives, doesn’t mean God doesn’t exist, or love them….because He does!!
Thank gov. Ron DeSantis for the courage to stand up and be counted. The woke group has to be driven from our schools & government, this movement is unholy and dangerous to our total way of life. These stupid people are following Hitler & Stalin teaching total stupidity.
DeSantis is the man! I would also suggest that parents who disagree with Disney on this issue as well as their coddling of China should boycott Disney. Let them rely on revenues for those who agree with me. My belief is their revenues would cut by 50% if parents just quit taking their kids there. Anyone who believes kids should be exposed to this crap at their young age probably is a pervert. Makes no sense! With all this BS no wonder our kids csnt read and write by the 3rd grade! Is this what Singapore, China, Finland and other countries who are kicking our educational a$$es do? Probably not!
