Good morning.

Congress is mounting its strongest challenge yet to President Trump’s Iran War, federal prosecutors have unveiled a sanctions-evasion case tied to Iran’s nuclear program, and investigators in Washington, D.C., are digging deeper into allegations that police officials manipulated crime statistics.

The House of Representatives voted Wednesday to approve a war powers resolution to limit unauthorized American military involvement in Iran.

Sponsored by Rep. Gregory Meeks of New York, the measure would require the White House.

A staffer with the U.S. Department of Justice has been arrested on state terrorism charges after allegedly doxxing a federal agent during a June border-enforcement raid in Brownsville, Texas.

Karen Olvera De Leon, an employee of the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Texas, was taken into custody this week by investigators with the Cameron County District Attorney’s Office. She is charged with one count of terrorism and one count of tampering with physical evidence, according to a criminal indictment detailed by Cameron County District Attorney Luis Saenz.

The case began on June 9, when federal agents executed a raid in Brownsville. As the operation unfolded, bystanders began recording and livestreaming the event. Viewers on one of the livestreams quickly began commenting on the video, including what authorities determined to be a death threat against the agent shown on camera. Shortly afterward, another commenter publicly revealed the identity of that agent.

Federal investigators launched a probe into the doxxing and were able to trace the commenter to Olvera De Leon, Saenz said. Cameron County authorities then arrested her after determining she was responsible for exposing the agent’s identity online.

Jail records from the Carrizales Rucker Detention Center show that a local judge set Olvera De Leon’s bond at $20,000 personal recognizance, allowing her release without payment so long as she appears for future court proceedings. Failure to do so would require her to pay the full amount.

The case comes during a rise in threats and attacks targeting federal immigration officers. Just one month after the Brownsville doxxing incident, a gunman wearing tactical gear opened fire on a U.S. Border Patrol building adjacent to McAllen International Airport. According to reporting at the time, the assailant fired numerous shots at law enforcement and into the building before being killed in a confrontation with McAllen Police and Border Patrol agents. One police officer was wounded in the shootout.

In my opinion any person that actually uses a deadly weapon against any military, law enforcement, or first responder should be executed if captured, and before capture if they are in he active act of an attack should be considered a deadly threat and killed. There is NO room for for those who attack or threaten any of these responders in this nation.
