After being denied entry to the Los Angeles Federal Building amid ongoing protests against federal immigration enforcement, Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.) confronted National Guard troops stationed outside by order of President Donald Trump. Barred from accessing the premises to check on detainees — including union leader David Huerta — Waters addressed the troops, questioning their presence and intentions.

The 86-year-old lawmaker challenged them, saying, “Are you going to shoot an elected official? If you shoot me, you better shoot straight.”
Fox News continues:
Waters also alluded to another viral clip she produced, which showed her taunting armed agents standing in formation in another part of the city.
“I pled [sic] with the National Guard, which was heavily armed, not to use their weapons against peaceful demonstrators who were simply exercising their rights to freedom of speech and protest,” Waters said in a statement posted to X, formerly Twitter.
“All people deserve to be treated with dignity and due process under the law: Peaceful, nonviolent demonstrations are critical to protecting our constitutional rights.”
“The President of the United States is a cruel, dishonorable human being,” she said, adding that he and others would “just as soon” like to see agents “shoot somebody down.”
Waters criticized the deployment as an overreach by the federal government, asserting that the governor had not been consulted. She urged the National Guard to defy orders that could lead to violence against peaceful protesters and called on fellow elected officials to join the demonstrations.
The protests, sparked by aggressive ICE raids and the federalization of the California National Guard, have drawn widespread criticism from state leaders, including Governor Gavin Newsom and Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass, who view the actions as politically motivated and damaging to state sovereignty.
As tensions continue, the situation in Los Angeles remains a focal point in the national debate over immigration policy and federal authority.

Don’t worry Maxine, if the rioters attack them, they WILL shoot straight! Problem is, this “protest” is neither quiet nor peaceful.
Why is it that Maxine Waters always manages to get in the middle of law enforcement trying to do their job? Does she not believe in law enforcement? Maxine Waters needs to retire and ride off on her broom into the sky!!!
Maxine Waters claims that “peaceful protest” is all thats going on? What about assaults on police, national guard or Marine members, what about the burning of cars, molitive cocktails being thrown, what about blocking of traffic on major highways, the trashed areas, and growning unrest by a Govenor and Mayor who are so inept that they actually support violations of both State and Federal Law. Maxine, your days are numbered as well.
through her in jail, nothing like A good dose of reality to get the cobwebs out
The cobwebs are too thick and entrenched in her brain to get the cobwebs out, don’t you think?
Maxine, it’s time to change to a patriotic American. I would have said return to your patriotic ways, but you have to be a patriot first to return you patriotic roots, don’t you?
