Is this Democrats’ most manipulative ploy yet to sway elections in their favor? You be the judge.
Democrats in various jurisdictions are pushing to lower the local voting age to 16 years old. The proposals conveniently coincide with data that shows younger demographics trending toward the left.
According to Fox News, lawmakers in Boston, Mass., and Culver City, Calif. are supporting measures to let younger residents vote in local elections while a Virginia Democrat has proposed a change to the state’s constitution.
“Notwithstanding the requirement that a voter shall be eighteen years of age, any person who is sixteen years of age or older and is otherwise qualified to vote shall be permitted to register to vote and to vote in local elections,” the Virginia amendment would say, according to House Joint Resolution 459. The resolution was introduced by Democrat Del. Sam Rasoul in November to be considered during next year’s legislative session.
Last week, the Boston City Council voted 9-4 to allow 16-year-olds to vote in municipal elections. If Mayor Michelle Wu signs off on it, it will go to the state legislature for a vote.
Supporters of the move argued some 16-year-olds have jobs and pay taxes and should therefore have a say in the political process
“While there is often the narrative that young people are the leaders of tomorrow, young people play an equally important role in our democracy today and deserve a vote that reflects their contributions to our City,” the petition says.
In Culver City, Measure VY called for residents aged 16 and 17 to be able to vote in city and school board elections. The measure was included on this year’s ballot but has remained undecided in the weeks since Election Day.
Some Congressional Democrats have supported the idea of lowering the voting age nationwide. In 2021, Rep. Ayanna Pressley (D-Mass.) proposed legislation to lower the age to 16, but it was unsuccessful.
“A sixteen-year-old in 2021 possesses a wisdom and a maturity that comes from 2021 challenges, 2021 hardships, and 2021 threats,” Pressley said in a statement at the time. “Now is the time for us to demonstrate the courage that matches the challenges of the modern-day sixteen and seventeen-year-old.”
While some Democrats attempt to characterize the effort as a “demonstration” of trust in the younger generation it’s not difficult to see what truly is motivating Democrats to propose the change.
Among voters aged 18 to 29 years old, the age bracket pollsters are typically referring to when they talk about the youth vote, people chose Democratic candidates by a 28-point margin in the midterm elections, according to an analysis from Tufts University.
Congress or a supermajority of state legislatures would have to amend the U.S. Constitution to allow 16-year-olds to vote in all elections.

Lower the voting age to 16? That is absolutely ridiculous. I remember when I was that age. I was interested in three things. PERIOD! Cars, girls and surfing. Then when I joined the Navy at 18 I added one thing to my interests. When I would get liberty and who was buying the next beer.
This is a very bad idea as sixteen year olds do not have the life experience or wisdom to vote. Much of the trouble we are suffering today is because the leftist idiots lowered the voting age to eighteen. They should raise the voting age back to twenty-one or better yet to thirty.
If they are adult enough to vote at 16, then they are also adult enough to responsibly drink alcohol and to purchase and carry firearms…along with all other actions we now require them to be 18 or 21 to do. If they are adult enough to vote they also are responsible to be treated as adults in the criminal justice system.

I remember 1972. That was the thinking at that time. Many states lowered their drinking ages right along with the voting age (that was when they made it 18). I got to vote and drink (by driving to Michigan all the time) at the same time. But within a few years that all went away. They all declared they had made a mistake and the pendulum has never swung back yet. When I turned 21, I never went back to Michigan to drink again. The times are different now. At that time the democrats were still part of the American dream and were not executing a revolution and government coup in Washington DC. Do you suppose that will be the difference this time and America will be destroyed? I believe that is their goal. They must destroy it because it is that light on the hill that attracts the oppressed of the world. They can’t have anyone of the proletariat not being oppressed. It sets a bad precedent.

Ironic isn’t it, that the sixteen year olds are supposably mature enough to vote, but eighteen year olds can’t be trusted to by a semi auto rifle.
16 and 17 year olds cannot buy tobacco products, alcoholic beverages or firearms, cannot enter into contracts, can just barely drive private vehicles and, in many states, not after sunset, cannot work a full time, 40-hour work week in most states, are not usually treated as adults when they break the law. There are very good reasons for those laws and rules. A human’s brain isn’t fully developed by that age, their hormones have not leveled out to be stable and consistent, they are easily manipulated by adults, hence the current state of education/indoctrination. Yet these imbeciles in the Democrat Party want to allow them to make life-altering decisions about their chosen gender (because the 16 and 17 year olds are so easily indoctrinated and manipulated to believe that is actually possible) and now … they want these kids who haven’t finished growing yet, to vote which is really allowing them to make decisions that are life-altering for everyone else in the country. How about…not just “No,” but “Oh Hell! No!”?!? Let’s raise the voting age back up to 21 years.
This is just one more example of how the left is trying to destroy our republic. There is no way that a 16 year old should be allowed to vote, we shouldn’t even have lowered it to 18. That age kids are looking for instant gratification, nothing real serious, which voting is, or at least should be. Now that the left has secured the majority in the senate it’s up to the republican majority in the house to keep the democrats from going even more crazy or stupid in their plans for this country.
Yeah, they’d be all to happy to unleash another plague on the country to help them in their “revolution”, their “struggle” to end the millstone around their neck, democracy, the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, and the American dream.
Not only does a lower aged demographic trend left, they also trend towards hysterical, lazy, inexperienced, poor, poorly educated, and irrational. Perfect additions to the Biden regime. Look at some of his most recent appointments like the baggage thief guy or the one with the satanic tattoos. Solid choices by our moron in chief, don’t you think? Time to take out the trash.
