Fetterman Picks Infamous Cop Hater for Pennsylvania Board of Pardons

-

In his current role as 's lieutenant governor, oversees the Pennsylvania Board of Pardons, which is in charge of pardoning the state's criminals. One of his appointees to the board is currently raising more than a few eyebrows in the pro- community.

Celeste Trusty, who Fetterman picked to be the board's secretary is “a self-described ‘friend' of cop killer Mumia Abu-Jamal” and “a supporter of the former Black Panther” according to The Washington Free Beacon. (RELATED: Democrat Frontrunner Changes Story About Holding Black Jogger at Gunpoint)

The Free Beacon also reported the following:

Trusty, who served as Fetterman's campaign political director, is a longtime prison reform activist who has called to “disarm the police.” She is also an avowed supporter of Abu-Jamal, who is serving a life sentence for the 1981 murder of Philadelphia police officer Daniel Faulkner. Trusty referred to Abu-Jamal as a “friend” and “my buddy,” and has said she frequently corresponds with him. Abu-Jamal's case has become a cause celebre for left-wing activists who want him released from prison for what they claim is a wrongful conviction.

During his 2018 campaign for lieutenant governor, Fetterman highlighted the responsibility of overseeing the Board of Pardons as one of the key motivating factors behind his decision to run for higher office. In his current campaign for U.S. , Fetterman has once again marketed himself as a champion of highly controversial criminal justice reforms.

The Free Beacon also notes that “Fetterman has also faced scrutiny for his board record. He voted to free numerous murderers, often over the wishes of families of victims. He was the only member of the five-person board to vote last year to pardon Wayne Covington, who was convicted of first-degree murder after killing a man to steal money to buy heroin. Covington struck a plea deal in his case in order to avoid the death penalty.”

Per records submitted to the Federal Election Commission (FEC), Celeste Trusty was an employee of the Fetterman campaign for nearly one year, from March 2021 to January 2022. During that time, she made nearly $70,000, not including thousands in reimbursements.

According to the RealClearPolitics polling data, Fetterman has a 6.5-point average lead on the GOP nominee, Dr. — but that number may be misleading.

The race has tightened according to the two latest surveys from Susquehanna Polling and Emerson College.

    • Is there any doubt that the “fix” is in? As someone from a similar state (ill-noise) I have a profound and frustrating sense that the vote I cast is rendered meaningless by the vile sinistral elements in their blind rapacity for power and lucre. I only hope they “pay up” soon in appropriate and terminal measure.

  1. It used to be in this country, the police are who you called when you needed help. With the Democrats and our own President, now you do away with the police. Disarm them so they can do nothing to defend the people that is their duty to defend. Government takeover, that is where this President is headed.
