Good morning.

Congress is mounting its strongest challenge yet to President Trump’s Iran War, federal prosecutors have unveiled a sanctions-evasion case tied to Iran’s nuclear program, and investigators in Washington, D.C., are digging deeper into allegations that police officials manipulated crime statistics.

The House of Representatives voted Wednesday to approve a war powers resolution to limit unauthorized American military involvement in Iran.

Sponsored by Rep. Gregory Meeks of New York, the measure would require the White House.

Wisconsin

The State of Wisconsin is once again showcasing itself as a political battleground – setting the stage for 2022 and into 2024.

Donald Trump-endorsed Tim Michels triumphed over Mike Pence-endorsed Rebecca Kleefisch in the Republican primary for governor as Trump notched another win in the Trump-Pence proxy war that has been playing out in Republican primaries across the country. This marks the second win for Trump over Pence in the last two weeks, after Trump endorsed Kari Lake was declared the winner of Arizona’s GOP gubernatorial primary. In the Senate race, incumbent Republican Senator Ron Johnson handily won his primary and will face off against Wisconsin Lieutenant Governor Mandela Barnes.

The Wisconsin Republican Party wasted no time congratulating Barnes on his win, sharing an opposition research website that the party launched about the Democrat nominee. (RELATED: Vulnerable Senate Dem Candidate Already Throwing Biden Under the Bus)

Minnesota

In Minnesota’s 1st Congressional District, voters have to answer the question of who they want to represent them in Congress twice. First, to fill the seat of former Republican Rep. Jim Hagedorn, who passed away earlier this year for the remainder of his term. Then, voters chose their Republican nominee to run in November for a full term representing the district. rad Finstad prevailed in the GOP primary and special election for the Republican-leaning seat and will run for a full term in November.

Meanwhile, Ilhan Omar survived another primary challenge — this time against a pro-police Democrat. She joins fellow “Squad” member Rashida Talib on the path to reelection. Talib overcame a primary challenge from a seemingly less radical democrat in a primary last week. (RELATED: GOP Payback? Connecticut and Vermont

Democrat Governor Ned Lamont of Connecticut will face off against Republican challenger Bob Stefanowski in November.

Vermont is poised to elect a woman for the first time following Democrat Lt. Gov. Mollie Gray’s primary win for the state’s only congressional seat.

One Last Note

As the results became undeniable following the contentious primary for Washington’s 3rd Congressional District, incumbent Republican Jaime Herrera Beutler conceded last night, marking the downfall of another pro-impeachment Republican in the House.
