Second Amendment Groups Prepare for Renewed Gun Control Push

Gun rights groups are preparing for new proposals from the White House to restrict and even ban more firearms and firearm modifications.

A bevy of conservative organization expect President Biden to push for some kind of gun reform. (RELATED: Governor Responds After Constitutional Carry Fight Rocks Swing State)

Especially now that his domestic agenda has stalled.

As The Washington Examiner reports:

The gun-making industry and advocacy groups were put on warning last week when Biden slipped in anti-gun comments in his impromptu statement on the Texas synagogue hostage situation. The suspect, who was killed by , was seen with a gun that he apparently purchased illegally.

Biden said that FBI background checks do not stop illegal purchases and indicated that the answer is to take away and off streets.

“You can't stop something like this if someone is on the street buying something from somebody else on the street. Except that there's too — there's so many guns that have been sold of late; it's just ridiculous,” Biden said.

“And it's because of the failure of us to focus as hard as we should and as consistent as we should on gun purchases, gun sales, ghost guns, and a whole range of things that I'm trying to do,” he added.

While Biden's rhetoric was decidedly anti-gun, 2021 went down as the second-busiest year on record for firearm sales. Moreover, one-fifth of those who purchased guns were first-time buyers. (RELATED: New Survey Reveals Where Americans Stand on Guns)

Biden has previously called on to “take immediate action and heed the call of the American people, including the vast majority of gun owners, to help end this epidemic of gun violence in America.”
