NCPD Cheers Not Guilty Verdicts For Ex-San Antonio Officers

SAN ANTONIO, Texas — Nov. 10, 2025 — The National Center for Police Defense (NCPD) issued strong support Monday following the acquittal of three former San Antonio Police Department officers — Eleazar Alejandro, Alfred Flores, and Nathaniel Villalobos — charged in the 2023 fatal shooting of Melissa Perez during a mental health crisis call.

Officers Cleared After Brief Deliberation

A Bexar County jury found all three officers not guilty on all charges after roughly 90 minutes of deliberation. The case stemmed from a June 23, 2023, incident in which Perez, 46, advanced on officers with a hammer during a welfare check. The defense maintained the officers acted in line with their training and legal authority, while prosecutors argued the shooting was excessive and unlawful.

The trial, lasting nearly a month, featured detailed crime scene testimony and graphic evidence. Prosecutors highlighted the extent of gunfire and injuries; the defense countered by challenging the investigation’s fairness and emphasizing situational context.

NCPD Statement: ‘A Reaffirmation of Due Process’

In a statement, the National Center for Police Defense praised the verdict as a reaffirmation of “our belief that every officer deserves a fair process and full access to support when legal and professional challenges arise.”

The organization also acknowledged the toll the trial took on the officers — especially Officer Flores, who served nearly 15 years with SAPD before facing criminal charges. NCPD said Flores and his family endured significant emotional, professional, and financial stress, and that the organization provided support during what it called “a precarious and scary time in their lives.”

The Broader Message: Fairness and Context Matter

NCPD emphasized that the outcome sends a broader message about how officer conduct should be evaluated — one that recognizes law enforcement officers operate in dangerous, unpredictable environments and must be judged within the full context of their training, surroundings, and threat perception.

The group also reiterated that while “no verdict undoes the tragic loss of life,” the case demonstrates the importance of ensuring officers have access to a full and fair legal process.

Historic Case, Ongoing Commitment

This was the first time multiple SAPD officers faced murder charges for an on-duty shooting. Alejandro and Flores were charged with murder, aggravated assault, and deadly conduct. Villalobos faced aggravated assault and deadly conduct charges.

As Flores and his co-defendants begin to move forward, NCPD says it remains committed to supporting officers who face legal battles nationwide. The organization called for stronger departmental readiness through legal defense programs, officer wellness initiatives, and peer support.

“Those who protect others deserve protection too,” NCPD concluded.

I guess Chauvin wasn’t afforded that luxury. He was tried in a biased court, a coroner was forced to change the cause of death, and suppressed police training books. While the 13% mob along with Maxine and the rest of the race baiters called for his head on a stick. Mistrial denied, and the sell outs Ellison and Walz civil case WROUGHT with falsities all covered this garbage up! He DESERVES RESTITUTION!
